Morning Ladies -

This morning I did Cy-yo Fire Segment(spinning workout). I extended it by repeating the last 10 minutes of sprints. I also sat for some of the standing hills (cuz there was a lot and I didn't want to put the pressure on my foot...as I didn't have my boot on). Workout was 75" and I burned 440 calories, but I didn't start my HRM until the 10 minutes of yoga was over at the beginning. I also did Ravi & Ana's Dr. Yoga House Call -Health and Happiness premix 16".

That (Ravi & Ana) DVD was other different one. We did a lot of detoxifying moves and worked on the thymus gland, as well as the immune system and heart.

Jen - sorry your so busy with work. Do you know if they're going to replace the person that's leaving?

Kel - Did you do your Core Secrets DVD yet? If Head to Toe is the one with the jump rope segments in it...i remember that I liked when I did it back to back to make a longer workout. The jump rope intervals aren't too long and I remember that I paused the tape and did it longer. I used my real jump rope. The key is also to go as heavy as you can with the weighted segments cuz if I remember correctly, he doesn't do that many reps. The background exercisers all use puny weights.

Have a great day ladies - I've got to finish my breakfast and do my neck stretches and then I have to go to the Grocery Store.

Hi Ladies,

Last night I tried out some light upper body weights & everything seemed to be fine with my left arm. But when I say light, I mean light. I started out with only 3 pounders - LOL - & increased weight very carefully until I arrived at only 7 but I stopped there just to be sure I didn't do too much. After all, it's been about 3 weeks now since I've done any upper body so I sure don't want to cause another injury. I also stretched a lot & only felt a slight twinge (no pain or discomfort, though) in my left arm so I feel pretty good about it. I think I should be able to go back to upper body work next week with caution.

This morning, I did Lotte Berke Basic Essentials with the blast & then I added 10 Minute Solution Yoga for Flexibility & Relaxation. The Lotte Berke DVD begins with some light upper body work (pushups on the knees & dips that I do off the step) so it was nice to get in some more upper body work after such a long hiatus. It was a really nice workout & it felt really good. I have CC#1 on schedule for tomorrow so I'm looking forward to that but I'm also looking forward to getting back to the weights next week too... thank goodness!

Lora - So did you enjoy that spinning workout? You decribed it but didn't really say if you liked it or not. Good workout regardless! Yeah, I think you've got the right Core Secrets in mind. Like I said, I haven't done it in forever because I found it so boring but maybe I'll pull it out next week in order to get back into the groove. I'm really itching to fit in some good strength workouts, though, so I'm still considering 3 days of cardio & doing Supersets & Push Pull on Tuesday & Thursday. Do you think that would be too much since I've been away from upper body for 3 weeks?

Jen - Nice to see you pop in last night! Great job with your workout too! Hope you have a good day & can find time visit again later.

Well, I'm having quite a rotten day & I'll try to be as brief as possible with my explanation. The company where I've been employed for over 13 years is building a new corporate office (our current building is about 40 years old). I design brick shapes, decorative walls, signs, & fountains so I designed a really neat new sign to go with our fabulous new building. Y-day, I went to the jobsite with the department manager to make sure all materials were at the site & ready for installation. Everything was in order & we discussed starting the project next week so I was all set. Well, my manager just came back to my cubicle within earshot of other employees & informed me that another co-worker would be managing the installation of the sign that I designed! Grrr. He (yes HE!) hasn't had one thing to do with this project before & it's not like I haven't managed other projects I've designed in the past so I have no idea why this is happening. I'm just feeling very upset, discouraged, unappreciated, & bad about things right now. I'm also wondering if it has something to do with being female? Oh well. I know I should probably go talk to my supervisor & ask him why this decision was made & if they might reconsider but I'm not in the best emotional state to do that right now. I think I'll discuss it with my DH tonight & talk to my supervisor either tomorrow or maybe even wait until Monday. Sorry for the long post but thanks for listening.

Hope you ladies have a good afternoon & I'll try to visit later if I get a chance.

Kel - are you going to try that Core Secrets before you jump into the Cathe weights you have planned? You sound like you did good today. You may have to go a bit lighter and play it by ear. I'm the wrong person to ask about working out with injuries, cuz as you see....I always work out injured. I just try to modify. I'm thinking i'll need to wear this boot to Vegas....as the foots a slow heal and there's tons of walking in Vegas.

Re: work -- that really stinks. I'd try to talk to my boss about it but try to be diplomatic about it and just question her reasoning.....I wouldn't point fingers or blame until you hear what she/he says. I hope it's not because you're female. I hate discriminiation.

Re: the workout this morning....yes, I liked it....but I think I need to get used to it cuz of the way he cue's and how he doesn't give real specific zones to work in. I will also have a better workout when I don't have to worry about standing up and pedaling and he did a lot of that....so I was concerned about my foot and distracted a bit.

I've got 2 job interviews scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. One's a Receptionist at a Long Term Care Facility and the other is at a Home Health Care place. I also got a call from 2 doctor's office's. One was a prescreening call to ask me if I'd work for an entry level pay and since they had late hours....they asked me if I'd be interested and the job was a doctor's office that wanted to interview me but the job was for 9 hours a week!! What a joke!

Speaking of workouts....I think I'm going to do my Frontside Jillian workout tomorrow, bacside Jillian on Saturday....cardio on Sunday and then Monday a Firm Circuit, Tues Cardio, Wed Total Body - Cathe, and thurs cardio........then vacation off workouts for 5 days.

HOw does that sound? Enough weight work before I go away?
