Trying To Fit Yoga In for Thursday July 12

Morning Yogini's and Wannabee's -

This morning I did Champion Rebounding. This is a pretty good workout. I love the kickbox segment and Mugger/Drug Dealer Drills (instructor is a Security Guard and teaches self defense). I had a hard time breathing again due to coughing and wheezing from this cold (which has taken a turn for the worse). Cardio was about 67 minutes and I burned 463 calories. I only was able to keep my HR between 80-85% of max. I then did Amy Bento's 10 minute stretch and Kundalini Yoga with Ravi and Ana - AM Yoga 30".

Jen - Do they play any Chris Cornell songs on the radio station you listen to? I really like his new solo effort and just ordered the CD. Have you ever heard the song - "She'll Never Be Your Man"? It's sort of bluesy sounding and his vocals are amazing. He is an excellent vocalist with great range. What rotation are you doing? How was the OB/Gyn - have fun?? LOL. Good going on the walking. Re: Resistance Bands.......I actually bought Spri Rings (they circle around so you don't have to bother tying a band). I have all of them, but I use the Green, Red and Blue most of the times. Red is so/so....Blue is difficult and the Purple one is too hard for me yet....although I haven't tried it lately. RE: your hairstylist. When you said she Rocks .....did you mean she gives you a new cut without giving you the same ol' same ol' all the time and suggests new ideas, or did you mean that she just styles it really good (like you can't do at home?). I'm still trying to decide if I should stick with my new hair stylist.

Kel - Sorry you messed your arm up so much. Hang in there! Good job keeping up with the workouts.

So - do normal people have difficulty breathing with a cold? I NEVER get colds and I haven't had a bad one since I've had asthma and I don't know if I should go to the doctor. I already know I'm a bit neurotic....so I don't know if I'm worrying for nothing. Do normal people have difficulty getting their HR up when they have a cold due to coughing and breathing??

Have a great day ladies.........off to do neck stretches before I go grocery shopping.

Hi ladies! OOOOh my DOMS are worse today! I am walking funny now after I have been sitting for awhile. I have no idea what workout to do tonight as anything containing even a hint of legwork will make me scream for sure. Guess I will try a circuit with an upper body premix or just try to walk again.

Lora-Yep, that OB/GYN appt is always real fun. x( So where do you get the SPRI rings-I have never heard of those. My hairstylist rocks because she can really style my hair and take it to the next level. I have had some pretty funky cuts in the past. I like to be a little edgy with my hair and make it different. Now that my hair is longer, it does not look as edgy, but she still finds a way to make it look different-almost movie star-like hair. She may cut it the same now, but she always styles it different or gives it a different part, uses different products to vary the "effect". She is very creative! That reminds me...I better give her a call to book my next appt. It's looking like I will have to take some more drastic measures to cover the gray soon. (I have just been highlighting so far and they have blended in with the blondes, but that is not working anymore.)

Kel-How's the arm today?

Have a great day! I will BBL as usual!

Jen

Hello there, fellow yogini wannabees. Well, probably not Lora since you seem to do yoga on a daily basis but maybe this description fits Jen & I anyway.;)

My arm is still sore when stretched too far so I'm just watching it & not doing any upper body until it feels better. This morning, I did CC #3 & LOVED IT! I am quickly becoming addicted & will probably have the rest of them before too long (Lora - it will probably take more than a week but I'm sure you're right, I will end up with all of them before long). Tomorrow, I think I might do the Hi/Lo only premix on SJP & then add the floor work & abs from KPC but I don't know yet... just gonna wait & see how I feel. Or I might do the only other CC I haven't tried yet... #2... I don't know.

Lora - Oh my goodness, I'd probably abstain from cardio if it were me. I usually have trouble breathing when I get sick with a cold, allergies, or bronchitis & I don't do cardio when I feel like that. If I feel bad enough, I just don't work out at all. I hope you feel better!

Jen - LOL... you feel like I did Tuesday evening & y-day. Seriously, I could barely walk. But I felt better this morning, although I'm still a little sore. It usually helps me to work it out a little by walking or doing some kind of light activity. Wow! Youre stylist sounds awesome! I haven't had my hair cut in over 6 months but I've trimmed it myself a little. I need a trim but my stylist quit after having her baby & I'm apprehensive about going to anyone else. Your'e lucky!

Well, still no yoga because I'm still concerned about stretching my arm too far. I'd really like to do some soon, though. Maybe next week. Hope you ladies have a great day & I'll try to check back in later. Take care!

Ugh....I haven't been this sick in as long as I can remember. I'm so mad! and worried about Vegas now and infections...etc. I hate this!
I'd probably refrain from doing my circuits but I'm stubborn and determined to finish 4 weeks of circuits before I take my functional fitness week next week.........which means I have a circuit tomorrow and Sunday before I can start my FF week.

Jen - How the heck did you find such a good hair stylist? Is it a national chain or small place? Any tips on how to do what you did? I'd kill to have a GREAT hair stylist. I used to have one but she got married and had kids and never went back to work.

Kel - glad you are loving the Cardio Coaches. It's also good to know that people without asthma have difficulty breathing in their chest with a cold. I wasn't too bad after this morning.....but mornings are the worst cuz of the drainage all night. (sorry if that was too graphic).

I probably should go do a Classical STretch or something....but I don't feel like it. I was busy all day. Ran errands all morning and went grocery shopping and then went over Mom's and cleaned my car over there....even swept it out with her vacuum. My floor has never been so clean in the car.

Hi again! Tonight's WO was walking for 1.5 hours again. I walked at a moderate pace for most of the time, but 4 times during the time I was out, I ran at a fast pace for one minute-sorta' like a blast or something. I sure hope my legs ease up tomorrow. It was awful trying to sleep last night. x(

Lora & Kel-I just really lucked up on my stylist. She was with a small (but very successful) shop and then went out on her own. Last year, she had surgery on her wrists for carpal tunnel. I was freaking out. (Of course, I was concerned about her too, but I know how difficult it is to find someone good.) She came back better than ever though and has so much business she has to turn people away. She was just renting the space she was in, but I am excited for her because she recently became part owner of the salon. :) I still tip her well though, because I appreciate her so much. Going to the salon is such a treat for me. I love to go early and catch up on the latest gossip magazines and hairstyling magazines. Now, if they would just add a manicurist and a brow waxer I would be in hog heaven :) :) as I am too lazy to go different places and get those things done.
