Morning Ladies -
This morning I did Rebecca Small's Step Mechanic (it just came....had been on order for months). I did the first 3-4 combos and repeated them (started to get REALLY lost, cuz they get more complex as time goes on). Workout was 54" and I burned 380. My HR stayed steady state at about 75-80%. My foot felt okay...but of course, I didn't jump too much. I'm happy that I can add in some variety of cardio now...but I'll be careful to keep it low impact and not overdo it until my doctor appt on the 8th of Oct. It's been 10 weeks since the fracture. Yes, here I go playing doctor again!!
I also did Yoga Dharma Energizing and Stress Relief 40".
I'm glad I"m almost done with my Functional Fitness week. It hasn't been very enjoyable for me this time. It's more like I'm just doing it cuz I know it's good for me. I need to try and fit in some Pilates abs and start adding Squeeze/Lotte Berk back into my leg routine now that I'm not being as careful with my foot.
Have you ladies ever heard of Yoga Toes? I have a pair that I had not been wearing due to my fracture, but I just started wearing them again. They are supposed to help with bunions, plantar fasciitis, arthtic feet, hammer toes, etc. (all of which I have). I want to get a pair of those Mizuno running shoes that Diane Sue (from Hardcore) just purchased which are recommended by a Podiatrist for people with bunions, etc.
Have a great day. We're going to see Rob Zombie's Halloween today.
Jen - Poor baby had to stay at the vet? I had a cat once that had a rare disease and remember having to leave him there for the day from time to time. I'm sure he was happy to be home with Mommy! Re: BArry's - I remember starting out with them the same way. That's when I decided to pick up the heaviest weight I could handle and began doing the drop sets that I described to you the other day. This seemed to be the only way I felt "worked" from them. Did you see my comments about the cardio from the other day?
Yve - I just love this time of year also. The leaves are gorgeous....although, honestly, I never get outside to enjoy them. I guess I need to get out of "myself" and get into nature more! I hear ya on getting that domestic stuff done and having the weekend free. When I'm working, I hate to have to do anything domestic on the weekend.....although, who am I kidding....I always hate to do anything domestic. I'm definitely NOT the domestic type! I always wonder how my sisters are even related to me cuz my one sister is like Martha Stewart and loves to make H'ors derve's (spelling???) and throw parties...etc. Also - do you really want that Anusara DVD? I don't want to pressure you into buying it...but if you really want it, let me know and I'll get your address. I think you asked me about that Yoga Dharma DVD the other day, but I can't remember what you asked and I know I forgot to answer you. I like the DVD. The beach setting is gorgeous. The Fitness Fix DVDs can be read about at www.FitnessFix.ca
and they actually all use a foam roller, balance disc (but I subbed my Bosu) and she also uses something new called an XCO trainer which is a sand filled object which I don't have. Each disc has a foam roller massage and we used the foam roller in our core work also.
Kel - Good for you fitting in some yoga like that. Thanks for all of your concern and care regarding my situtation. I appreciate it.
Thanks for all of the advice on dealing with the DH from everyone. He was in a somewhat better mood yesterday, but it went downhill fast this morning when he picked up a current copy of the Homes Guide Book and discovered that our one property (that the deal fell thru on) states PENDING over the picture of the house!! He's livid!! Great!! The carpet is getting installed in the most recent house on Monday and I can't wait to see the colours we picked. If I do say so myself, I think I did a bang up job picking colours of paint for this house and carpeting too. My DH let me go slightly off the strictly neutral path and the kitchen is done in a rosey beige and the living room is also done in a beige colour that seems to have a rose base since there is brick in the foyer area that has a burgandy colour in it and I was trying to pick up on that with the theme of this house. The basement was going to be too drab cuz we painted it a really neutral colour left over from the last house......so I got to pick a sort of wine/rose coloured carpet for the basement to brighten it up and again pick up on the brick. He even let me pick some coloured carpeting for the bedrooms since the colour of the walls in those rooms is extremely neutral.
I better go get my bath and such.
