Trying to Fit Yoga in For Friday Oct 5

Morning Ladies -

This morning I did Get Real Fit weightlifting with Lynn Hahn. I paused the tape and did additional sets of each exercise. Some of the legwork was done with 5# ankle weights, but that wasnt' enough, so I used a band in addition to the ankle weights. Workout was 70" and I burned 289 calories. I also did Namaste Yoga - Earth Series 23" and Ravi & Ana's - Quick Fix - So Long Sciatica 7" and Headache Helper 7".

I didn't think this workout was that hard....but I think I must have been in a "mental zone"....cuz my legs and lats are starting to feel pretty sore and it's only 9:30! This has happened before. I didn't used to like Namaste Yoga. Bought them about a year or so ago and did a few and hated them. Took the case out last night and did Water Light series and it was great......loved it. I also enjoyed the one I did this morning. I think I was doing a lot harder/faster flow yoga back then and didn't appreciate the slower stuff.....but now that I'm older and stiffer....I guess I like them??

Have a great day everyone. Gotta go run the sweeper. I'll be back later to talk more.

Good morning everyone! Chatty yesterday, weren't we? Just popping in here for a minute... got a busy day ahead of me. This morning I did the Navy Seal Stamina Workout. It's only about 40 minutes long but it's a good one... solid weight training & calisthenic-style cardio bursts. Still no yoga for me this week but I have my yoga mat in my car so hopefully I can pull it out & do some yoga during lunch. Depends on what I end up doing for food so we'll see...

Lora - Is that yoga series the same one from FitTV? If so, I like that style & I think it looks like a good series. Do you know where I can you purchase these DVDs? Oh yeah... Happy B-Day this weekend!

Yve - You have a yoga class today, right? Hope you enjoy it & I hope your Thanksgiving dinner goes well this weekend too. Happy belated B-Day to your DH!

Christine - So good to see you yestereday! I love your new avatar too - Jimmy is SO cute! I hope you can avoid getting anymore bruises while he has that cone on his head. When can he stop wearing it?

Jen - You must be busy again. Hope you get a chance to check in & chat a bit today.

Thanks to everyone for the yoga DVD comments & suggestions. I think I will definitely get the Yoga for Happiness DVD but I'm still a bit undecided about which others to purchase. When I figure it out, I'll be sure to let you all know. Well, I'm feeling totally unmotivated again today but I better get down to some "real" work now anyway. Hope everyone has a great day & I'll be back later...

Kel - I think it's Namaste.tv. I think they are the ones from Fit TV...although I don't get Fit TV...so I'm not sure. It's nice cuz they are short and you can fit them in easier.

Hi ladies,

Hatha yoga class this morning.

Lora - thanks for finding the dvd for me on Fitness Organica.. I will have to take a look. How have you been feeling now - without your boot?

Kel - The Navy Seal workout sounds great. Thanks for the good wishes for my DH and also for Thanksgiving. Got my groceries and cleaning done today.. so just have to do some prep work tomorrow for Sunday.

Christine - Thanks for the birthday wishes for DH. I think that taking a yoga lesson from a real yogi would be amazing. What an experience it must have been. Does your husband practice yoga at all?

Hi Jenn if you check in later. Hope all is well.

Have a nice evening ladies.

Yve

Hi ladies! Sorry to be MIA yesterday! Last night, I still managed to fit in a workout. I did Turbo Jam 20 min workout, followed by 10 Min Solution Yoga, Ballet and Pilates segments. Man, those Pilates abs were tough on that one. The ballet was really hard too. I always thought of that series as mostly intermediate, but now I don't think so. My corrected Netflix came in today, so I finally have Jillian Michaels Back in Action. Not sure what I will be doing workout-wise this weekend. I am going to try to spend some time figuring out my next rotation.

Lora-What happened with your Puddle of Mudd tickets? I think I like some of their songs. Do you like Liz Phair? I don't like all her stuff but I downloaded a few songs of hers to my iPOD that I really really love. Yep, I saw the Pet Owners thread-too cute! I liked the Non-pet owners who visit & like to complain about our pets part. I subscribed to Ravi and Ana's newsletter. Isn't it exciting that they are already making more DVDs?! I do purchase M & F Hers and will check to see if I tore that rotation out of the magazine. HAPPY BIRTHDAY this weekend!

Kel-LOVE the new avatar, chickie! Your story about your DH & trying to get in yoga (but he came home early) hit home with me. Last weekend, I had come in from my walk when DH said he was going to go out and pick up some dinner. I thought to myself, well that's good-while he is gone for about 20 to 30 mins, I can get in a quick yoga segment and some abs. Well darn it if he didn't call me three times while he was out. I was bummed for the interruptions, but was appreciative he was picking up dinner-it's a big help! Similar to your story, it's hard to get mad about missing workouts when you get to spend extra time together or they are doing something nice for you! I also like stretchy types of yoga. I like Shiva's and highly recommend them, but to me they are a bit more active. She tends to move around a bit more and she's not really the static hold type. (For example, in side angle pose, you don't just hold it-your arm is moving up and over your head and then down and next to your side.)

Yve-Hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner this weekend! I am sure everything will turn out perfect! :) All the foods you listed sounded scrumptious! Wow, Rhythmic Step must be pretty tough to make you sore. How does it compare to Step Blast? I have them both, but have only done Step Blast.

Christine-How's Jimmy doing? It's great to have you on the check-in whenever you can make it! Interesting that yoga has helped you with emotional eating. In what way? I go through bouts of emotional eating, but luckily they don't happen very often-but I would love to have a better way to work through things to prevent it from happening. How's your DH doing?

Have a great night everyone! I am super tired and my eyes are watering so I better get off the computer. I will be around a little bit this weekend-more Sunday than Saturday. I am going to work tomorrow :( and then I might be going to an Atlanta Cathe get-together in the evening :).
