Trying to Fit Yoga in for Friday March 16

Cathlete
Morning Yogini's -

This morning I did Cathe's Cardio & Weights and it ended up being soooo easy....I felt I needed to do more. I also did Guilumero Gomez's South Beach Box (20 min). Workout was about 1 hour 25 minutes and I burned 480 calories.

This Cathe workout must be a less intense cardio....as I added propulsions, hops, etc and my HR was only around 140 througout. I even lifted slightly heavier than Cathe and didn't even feel my upper body was worked out. ..........should have done my SWAT workout as planned. That's okay, I'm starting Barry's Bootcamp on Monday.

Jen - The best weight workouts I own are Cathe's (of course #1) and Jari Love's are okay, but you can't follow her with the weight....follow the guy or go higher, Barry's Bootcamp are excellent (if you buy them from HSN - you can start the rotation with me soon....I'll even wait for you to receive them....I think there's a discount code also -- they were talking about it on the Open Forum), of course Beachbody's Power Half Hour, P90 Masters & P90X, Amy Bento's All Pump Extreme, SWAT (decent but compact-- short lengths no w/u or c/d), Minna Lessig's Total Body Toning, Rebecca Small's Push & Lift - available at Fitness Organica, and Margaret Richards makes good weight tapes, but most of her leg work is lying work -- don't know if that matters to you and her DVDs are very expensive. Also, I've heard Joyce Vedral's workouts are very effective but she's goofy and her form is horrid. I finally broke down and bought 2 of her DVDs cuz I was curious and one was on sale at Fitness Organica for $10 - probably still is -- so I bought them but haven't done them yet cuz I was doing that SWAT rotation. I also have heard good things about Cory's Everson's dated workout Get Hard Arms which I recently purchased on VHS from Amazon but also have not yet tried. I think out of the entire list I gave you.....Beachbody, Amy Bento's All Pump Extreme and Barry's Bootcamp are the best. A lot of ladies on this Forum are just starting to get Barry's and they really love it!! www.Barrysbootcamp.com (but HSN sells the set slightly cheaper and search the Open Discussion Forum for the discount code - there's a thread about Barry's that's recent).

Toasty - when is your move scheduled? Did the people accept your offer for the new house?

Hi to everyone else.

Yve - French fries -- I love them...but they are among one of my "forbidden" foods and I'm sure if I ate one today, I'd be sick. Same with potato chips. I don't keep that stuff in the house, but
sweetnesses are my downfall and you have to have some allowances when it comes to treats. I will not touch a fried food though...no donuts either. They are among the "forbidden".....partly due to my stomach condition....but partly cuz I know what they do to your arteries. I don't think I've eaten a french fry in years. I have never been interested in Anusara...and don't even really know anything about it. I saw this tape mentioned on a Yoga thread over at VF "Yoga off the beaten path" and saw it was good for shoulders, low back and hips and I always need to give those areas extra attention. Yes, it is by John Friend....who I've never heard of until know. You are pretty knowledgeable. Yes, Pandora is a sensitive soul (just like her Mommy).....and I'm glad you said that my cat has a soul!!! as some don't believe that .....and even if you didn't mean it literally.....I'm taking it that way!!! :) I love Shiva's Lunar Flow yoga. I bet that felt good last night.

Jen - so.....no comment about the pic's over at Hardcore? Do you like my favorite band's lead singer? LOL!! Are you into hard rock? A lot of us ladies are over at the Hardcore thread.

Meg - what's up........your package is ready to go, but I think it weighs too much to stick stamps on it and send it....so I guess you'll have to wait for me to get my lazy butt to the PO. I hate going there cuz there's always a line. I'll get it out with my next Ebay shipment.

Duh.........guess I forgot to mention that I also did Intermediate Yoga in Fiji this morning! 50". It was nice on the beach!

Hi ladies! I am too exhausted for words. Getting ready to go to bed. Tonight's WO was Turbo Jam's Kickin' Core (Cardio Party portion only) followed by Turbo Jam Cardio Party # 1. Still sore from yesterday's shoulders and legs WO and have DOMS in my forearms of all places...went pretty heavy on barbell upright rows and I think that did it.

Lora-Sorry I am not so chatty tonight. Thanks for all you do to keep us all going!!!!!!!!!! :) Great info. on the weighted WOs. Previewed Amy Bento's Pump Extreme on Collage right before my WO and looks like I would like it alot. Netflix has it, so I have that one in my queue. I am expecting my purchased YBBs on Monday or Tuesday of next week, so I can send back the Netflix that I have and try out some other Jari's and Amy's. My friend swears up and down she is trying Ravi and Ana this weekend...can't wait to find out what she thinks.

Have a great night everyone! I really would love to chat more but the bed is calling me. Even skipping the Hardcore thread tonight.
:( Will catch up more tomorrow.

Hi ladies,

Very good day today - I got 7 hrs last night! Hallelluyah! It's like an epiphany!!! I think the boiled cammomile flower tea works wonders!!!

Tonights workout was Circuit Max - followed by 30 min Power Yoga for Happiness.

Lora - You have a lot of willpower -not a french fry in years!!! wow! Hats off to you - and I mean that. Actually - I am usually ok - but at that TTOM - I usually crave salty fatty foods - not sure why exactly - but it must have something to do with the cortisol/stress effect luring me to salt.
Anusara yoga focusses on heart/chest opening exercises - bringing deep rooted emotions to the surface. Many who practice this type of yoga often find themselves in tears, inexplicably, when doing some of the poses. I really do want to delve more into this form. Which John Friend dvd do you own?
For the record - I believe that every living thing has a soul. That includes animals, insects, and even plants - believe it or not. Gosh - I hope you dont think I am a quack after this last bit of info (meaning the bit about plants). But I feel that everything has its place in the universe. I have a love of animals - just as I do a love of gardening, the earth and really all things living. When I do work in the garden - and till the soil, plant, or water the flowers, I really do feel at peace.

Jen - Hope you get a good night's rest. What do you think of the Turbo Jam over all? I saw the infomercial for the first time this week. The previews seemed like the dvd was a bit difficult in terms of choreography.... not sure if I could move the backside so quickly!

Hi to Meg and Kel if you are checking the forums tonight.
