Trying to decide what do buy from Beachbody

I am looking for some other workouts besides Cathe. I am doing Insanity right now and am really enjoying it. I am getting great results especially in endurance. I have done P90X. I was wondering how ChaLEAN Xtreme, Turbo Jam Max results and Hip Hop Abs compare to Insanity or Cathe's workouts. They don't have to be as intense but I do want them to be advanced. I was also wondering about the Brazil Butt Lift. Does anybody else have these workouts and can let me know how they compare?

i also have p90x+ which is my fav upper body besides sts and p90x. it has cool abs where you do hanging on a pullup bar and different excersizes than p90x. bbl i am enjoying.do a search for it.

Chalene Extreme is good because it gets everything done is short time and the rotation is only 5 days so you get 2 rest days built in if you want them. It focuses on heavy weights and cardio. I enjoyed it when I did it. Lots of compound moves!

I just got Brazil Butt Lift. I completed week 1 of one of the rotations that comes with it. I am really enjoying it. I am not a fan of the cardio work out in it (Cardio Axe) b/c it's alot of dancey, hippy movements which just aren't my style but it's no big deal b/c I just sub in a work out that I enjoy. I can really feel the lower body work when I do it and don't even need any equipment! The day after my first BBL work out I was soooooooooooooooooo sore!

Turbo Jam is a ton of fun! Dancey but not too much so for me. Very easy for me to turn athletic. If you follow her instructions on form you really do get a great core work out!

I don't own Hip Hop Abs but just the name alone tells me I wouldn't like it. I did have Rockin' Body but sold it. It was okay but I didn't like it enough to keep it.

The other poster brought up P90X+. I have that too. I have done the work outs but have never completed a full rotation. For some reason I just can't get into it. I like the original X much better. That's just me though. I have no doubt that the X+ can be just as effective if you see it through!

HTH!:)

BBL Question

I've previewed these and what keeps me from purchasing the set is I absolutely despise, dancy hip-swinging cardio!!! Is the cardio a separate dvd workout or is it incorporated as a type of circuit with the lower body work?? If it's separate, would I be omitting too many workouts to justify spending the money on the set just for the lower body work??

I just finished up Chalean Extreme and I loved it and had great results. You definitely get a lot done is a short time, but you have to go heavy to see results. It is probably something you can mix in with Insanity for strength. It is a five day a week program, but I always substituted different types of cardio on the cardio days (did 3 days of cardio instead of 2) and did the 3 times a week strength portion per the program. Good luck with your decision! Lots of great programs to choose from :)

Yes, Cardio Axe is a separate work out.

I love CLX. I'm doing it again now. I love that it's quick. But I agree that you HAVE TO lift heavy. I was doing BBL, and I love it, but I wasn't seeing any results. I got DOMS, and it felt like it was working my body, but my jeans felt tighter in the butt. Perhaps a butt lift wasn't what I needed. I need a butt exterminator. :p

I've never had Hip Hop Abs, but from what I heard, it's not in the same league as Insanity and P90X. From what I've seen, it's more "intermediate" (at best?) than advanced.

I have some Turbo Jams, and like them, but I've tried others and don't like them as much. I prefer the more athletic ones to the dancier ones. The "Maximum Results" package contains a sculpting workout that I've tried (I got it from someone who didn't like it). Chalene was NOT into intense weight workouts when she did this, and I recall moves I thought were pretty lame and/or useless, like doing overhead presses while shaking your booty! She uses very light weights in this workout.

I liked CLX when I was doing it, but 'dropped out' after the first workout of the third group of exercises. It was tough and challenging, but there are also some moves that can be hard on the back (in a BAD way). I don't know if I'll ever do it again, though I do like the circuit/interval (or whatever she calls them) workouts. It seems like many people noticed strength increases from this, but not much in the way of appearance changes or size changes.

Brazil Butt Lift is one of my favorite workout systems! It's very focused on the glute area, but also has some good balance work, functional fitness, and core work. I also find that it works the muscles of the lower body in a way that is beneficial for the knees (at least mine!). I love it! It doesn't LOOK that challenging, but it is. (Don't bother with the advanced or add-on kit, or whatever it's called. There's a lot of extra stuff you don't really need that's included, with only one long full workout. )

I highly recommend buying Beachbody products not directly from Beachbody, but from www.totalfitnessdvds.com or from www.qvc.com (the latter carry some of the programs). Their customer service is more reliable.

HTH!

@ Stephanie, LOL on butt exterminator : )

I don't know about others, but I lost about 4% body fat with CLX, went down a size and see a lot of definition in my arms and legs. Others have noticed as well, so I guess you get out of it what you put into it.

Thanks for the Shock Cardio/CLX rotation Beavs! I will need to do this after my STS/Shock Cardio rotation. I didnt know it was out there.
