Training the legs, via Oxygen Mag 2/07 issue, running hills...

So I'm trying to keep gaining muscle in my legs, and in this legs issues Monica says to run hills. So I'm just starting this w/other leg work. What part of my leg will get the most out of this, running hills that is. I'm really trying my best to get my legs the strongest they ever have, so I'm trying to shock them by new challenges every 4-6 weeks.

Thanks :)

Hi Julie:

It seems to me that running uphill will work your glutes and hamstrings, running downhill will work your quads, but if you aren't careful, the downhill run may put some undue stress on your knees.

If you are trying to gain muscle in your legs, what type of weight training are you doing? Are you lifting as heavy as you can?

Do you do step as well? I think step workouts are really effective in strengthening the lower body.

Take care, Lynn M.
