My DH, a computer engineer, has decided that I need a new laptop because I'm running out of space on my current one. To date, I've used nothing but Thinkpads because my DH gets a discount on them, and all I know is trackpoint. I've tried to use a trackpad a few times and wound up frustrated. Now, my DH's discount is on Lenovo, and he tells me that there are no Lenovos with trackpoints! 
Has anyone here ever made a successful transition from using a trackpoint to using a trackpad? I'm not a particularly patient person, but if I know I can eventually get used to it, I'll go with it. Not that I have much choice.
