Hi everybody!
Have any of you fitness buffs tried Tony Little's Gazelle Glider (I think it's also called Gazelle Platinum 2000). Does it give you a fairly-good aerobic workout?
Just to give you my fitness history, I have for the last 3 or 4 years been an advanced hi-impact exerciser and have all of Cathe's tapes (I can make it through all of MIC, both hi-lo and step (suffering all the way) and can get through IMAX without modification (except, of course, the killer number 10). Now for the boo-hooing: I am currently suffering from the dreaded Plantar Faciitis in my right foot so I can't get much cardio from Cathe for a while. (I am now concentrating more on weight-training using Cathe's weight-training videos)
During the summer, I can get my cardio by walking partway to work in the morning, and on the treadmill during lunch-hour at the gym. But that will get boring after awhile (wait a minute, it's already boring!!!) and if I take off a vacation day here and there, it's not worth it to travel all the way to the gym just to use their treadmill. Also, if the Plantar Faciitis decides to hang around for the long haul, I need to think about what I'm going to do during the dark and cold winter mornings before work, not to mention rainy days in the summer.
A treadmill takes up far too much space. I live in a crowded one-bedroom apartment with 3 cats (what was I thinking!?), a humongous cat tree (what was I thinking!?) and a large, space-consuming array of barbells and dumbbells (in that case, I knew what I was thinking!). I need something I can move out of the way relatively easily when not in use.
Anyhow, has anyone tried the Glider? Pro's? Con's? Or perhaps you could recommend another cardio machine (but not a Stairmaster -- yuch!) Oh, and another caveat, I am only 5 ft tall so I'll need to reach the handlebars.
Thanks and have a great weekend everyone! And to all my fellow Canucks, have a great LOOOOONNNNNGGGG weekend!
Patricia (Catricia)
P.S. And in case you were wondering -- no, cat trees don't grow cats -- just furballs!
