TLT - Strength in Movement -

Fitness-Mom

Cathlete
Hi Everyone-

I was curious who did this workout, what are your reviews on this?

I received this through Netflix today, I plan on doing it tonight after work. I did review and it doesn't look to bad. I always liked Jen Carman's style in The Firm.

Please post your reviews good or bad.
What are your favorite TLT DVD's?

TIA ~

I love it, but be prepared, it is completely different from Cathe. The key is to take the time to learn to execute the moves properly, with good form, using the maximum weight the move will allow (which will not be anything near what you lift with Cathe). This trains different muscles, especially the other TLT's such as Endurance for Movement and Better Burn Better Buns using fuctional moves. SIM definitely has more of a traditional flare to it then the other TLT workouts. When I rec'd the TLT workouts I too felt they were easy, but the more I did them and perfected them the more challenging they became. They leave me feeling very good and energetic and I use these often in my rotations to shake things up or to train completely differently from my norm. I think there is a learning curve with these and time and consistency allowed me to appreciate them more and more. I'm really, really happy with my TLT workouts (I don't care for FYC though).

Strength in Movement is a great workout, but my favorite TLT workout is Endurance for Movement. It works the back very nicely, as well as the legs. I didn't find the chest work all that challenging, but I love how the other body parts are worked so effectively that I do not mind! Give that one a try if you can, these are excellent functional workouts that can be used to shake up your routine!

One tip: don't be too ambitious when choosing weights. You may be different, but I always like to lift my max, which I usually overestimate for functional fitness workouts! Stick with what Jen uses (or even a little lighter) the first time out, then the next time, you might want to go up in weight.

I really think the shoulder girdle is nicely worked in this one. There are some very light-weight moves that hit the area nicely.

Ok, I tried SIM, I would have to say it is OK, but I didn't really care for it. I stopped mid through, I might give it one more try.

It was funny, I put the DVD in and everyone in the house said, "Mom, where's Cathe, No Cathe?" LOL

Thanks for all your reviews.
