I read in the current Reader's Digest that there's a study that indicates that fat in the legs might protect women from heart disease.
"That might explain why your body fights so hard to hold onto it," the article says.
It says women with excess leg fat, regardless of how much belly fat they had (which is linked with heart disease), had lower levels of triglycerides in the blood.
Wouldn't it be great if those stubborn saddlebags actually provided some benefit? We can hope!
