that area right beneath the butt

runfree

how and what exercises have you done to get rid of that ripple effect right below the crease of the glutes? I do lunges, squats in my bootcamp class. Irun alot. Its gotten alot better, that ripple use to be more in the middle of the back of my hamstrings and has slowly moved its way up over the past few yrs and its almost where it will blend in with the crease but its gtaking so long to get rid of it. I know gross but its there and obviously my glutes are getting higher if the crease is movin up from middle of the back of my hamsrtings but this has been yrs. should I do leg press consistantly several days a week? what has worked for those of you that had this probelm area?

I really like split lunges (rear leg up on a step or bench), glute squeezes on the floor with weights (laying on back, lifting butt up and squeezing, I use 40-60#s of weights held on my pelvis) and deadlifts. I did this consistently for a couple of months two summers ago and my butt hasn't been the same since (in a GOOD way!).

Good luck,
Lisa

Well, you can't spot reduce, you can only build muscle, so you are doing the right thing there. Different people have different places that they store fat; that's determined by genetics. You may have to lower your body fat past a point where you are happy if you don't want any body fat in a particular area. We don't get to decide where we keep our fat, unfortunately, or women would look very different walking down the street...
