You made me look very good yesterday! I'm a massage therapist and some clients love to chat and wax philosophic while receiving their massages. I had the pleasure of meeting a very stylish professional woman in her late '60's, she chatted about everything from the meaning of life to her love of cosmopolitans. I ceased the opportunity to use the Dorothy Parker poem you posted and she loved it! While talking about aging gracefully (with the occaisional kicking and screaming) she used the analogy of aging being like a roll of toilet paper, the closer you get to the end, the faster it goes:7 LOVE THAT! Anyway, thanks for making me look so clever!

How cool!!!! But I'm sure you needed no help at all in "looking clever!"

You know, I'm exactly the opposite when I get a massage or a facial. I choose to not talk at all. (one of the few times in life when I go with that option! )

I don't talk at all either. The last thing I want to do is think. The only talking is feedback. "OMG that feels so freaking good" or "That quad has been extra sore".

I agree, you don't need help looking clever!

I don't like to talk when I get a massage either but while I'm massaging some people, listening to the extremely personal things they are telling me I have to wonder if there is truth serum in the table Thank you both for your confidence in my level of cleverness, my apparent lack thereof is perfectly illustrated in my post above where I stated.... "I ceased the opportunity"....that would be... I SEIZED the opportunity! :+

I'll be honest, when you have time, I would LOVE to know what it's like being a masseuse. I asked the guy I used to go to about it, and he said he found it a combination of be relaxing and almost like a workout.

How about you? It seems like you'd be using lots of upper body work. Do you work for someone else, or are you on your own?

We have a few massage schools here, and I've actually checked out there websites, but that's as far as I've gotten.
