Not very computer savvy but giving it a try.

I can't figure out how to resize image to 48x48 as recommended. Can anyone help? Also, do you have to be signed up with a hosting site, ie. photobucket, to have an avatar?

Thanks!

JJ

Yes..This was my bird. I lost her to an avian bird disease a while ago but I still love to look at her pics. She's a blue headed pionus and her name was Kirbee. I really miss her.

I'm new with these avatar things. Do you know if I am supposed resize my photos after uploading before I paste over here? If so, what is the optimal size to make it? It looks a little warped/squeezed as my avatar. It seems once you paste it here the size is automatically adjusted to 48x48. Thanks Shelley!

I didn't resize mine. If you click on my username, you see a bigger version and it's not so squeezed. I think your pic looks fine.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. It takes a lot longer than we think to get past these things sometimes. Do you have any other pets?

JJ - I won't worry about resizing Kirbee! I love to open the avatar pics and be able to actually see what I am looking at.
And she is quite a lovely bird! I am sure that you do miss her, they can really make an impact on our lives in a short time.
xoxo, Denise :)

Shelley,
I also have a dog. He's an Avon Terrier which is a mix of a cairn, wesitie & mini schnauzer. His name is Cooper and he actually got along well with the bird.

Even though I love birds, I don't plan on getting another one. I really miss her saying "good morning Kirbee" every morning when I would uncover her cage. It is very hard to detect a sick bird and usually when they exhibit signs its too late. She died the next day after I saw that something was wrong.

I love that there are so many animal lovers here. Its a great place to come and share the ups and downs of life :)

Denise,

Thanks for your kind words. I like to see a larger image too so I'll leave the pic as is. I'm having fun playing around with my pics and will probably change my avatar around.
