If you get a chance to see this HBO movie I would highly recommend it. It is a true story based on a Colonel (Kevin Bacon) taking home the body of one of the soldiers killed in action in Iraq in 2004.
We have been over there so long that I often forget about these men and women serving in our military. I would imagine all of these soldiers in Iraq for the past few years have been changed for life.
Although I served in the Air Force in the 80's we were not at war and I had a great experience, nothing like what they are experiencing today. The images of what they have gone through must be haunting.
I have always had a great appreciation for those in our military, but this movie has taken that appreciation to a whole new level.
I wouldn't have the guts to enlist today so I am humbled by these young men and women who do so. I will make it a point from this moment forward that when I see one of our military men and women, to shake their hand and let them know how honored I am by their service to our country.
