Survivor--is anyone else disturbed by this?

I love this show and haven't missed a season. They have to change things up regularly or it would get as boring as plain oatmeal. I think Mark Burnett is a reality t.v. genius. Look at all the hit shows he has. He set out to boost ratings and Im sure they will be really high now with all controversy going on. Can't wait until Sept. 14th!
P.S. Did hear today that GM pulled out sponsership for the show. More controversy!}(

I'm not bothered by it, really. It's just a gimmick, and one that seems to be working! Besides, a number of the contestants have been interviewed and have said they think it's an interesting concept and one they are not put off by. Who knows, something compelling may come of it. I for one wish we'd stop treating race like some sort of sacred cow anyway.

I saw a guy on the news the other night ranting and raving about how this was pure racism. He just went on and on. I thought to myself, guy, if a bunch of ethnic groups battling it out for a million dollars on a TV show is the worst "racism" you ever come across, consider yourself damned lucky.

OMG Laura I thought exactly that the first time I ever heard about it!!! Never actually watched an episode, though. Doesn't sound like I've missed much!
