Summer BLAST - 7/8 (formerly Spring into Summer)

Good Morning everyone,

I'm so glad that the weekend is almost here! I need to rest and recuperate some more. I am taking a summer school class for my PPS credential and it's Tues, Wed, Thur, from 5-10 pm for 3 weeks. I'm nearing the end of week 2 and man, am I getting tired. It doesn't help that my cough is totally lingering. The weekend will help me recharge my batteries.

Today's workout was CIA 2K01 Totally Jammin' Hi/lo with Gay Gasper. A pretty fun workout with a bit too much TIFTing for my taste. But I got good and sweaty so I guess that's what counts.

Will probably check in again later. Just wanted to get the ball rolling for today!

Good Afternoon Everyone;

Sabine I hope you get to feeling better soon. My hubby is taking some classes and he is always so tired. It doesn't help that he also works 12 hour shifts and brings alot of his paperwork and lesson plans home from work.
When he gets a chance to breathe most of the time we find him asleep on the couch.

Today was IMAX 2, got up before the kiddos this morning and got my workout in without any interruption while it was not as hot. They are getting so bored and are actually looking forward to going back to school. I tell them to keep reading and to keep their skills up. Since it is so darned hot here they don't even want to go outside anymore. It has become a chore to get them outside and I find that I need to force them out for a bike ride just to get some fresh air.
Luckily, they go back to school August 3rd, and they'll be back with their old school chums and we will all be on a regular schedule again. We live out in the country so all their friends are so spread out it's hard to get them together.

Well I hope everyone is doing well today. I need to go into town to take care of some things and I'm dreading the heat it's 12:15 here and already it's up to 94°. I try not to complain too much cause I can deal with the heat better than with the cold winters x(

Good afternoon,

I did Firm it up today. I don't know if that was a good idea or not. Sabine, I wound up being quite sore in my rear end, and a little in my inner thighs from Tone it up. I'm kind of following the "I got all the tapes and Dang it I'm going to use them" rotation, and that's what was called for. I hope I can walk tomorrow!

Vilma, where do you live? August 3 is about the earliest I've ever heard of kids going back to school. I think mine go back August 23 (I have to check!). Do you have more like a year 'round schedule? It's been hot here (in Maryland) the past few days also, although our high yesterday was just in the low 90s, and it's supposed to be around 90 today. Monday, when we were driving back from the beach, the thermostat in my van said the outdoor temperature was 102. That may have been a little inflated, because we were in bad traffic at the time, and I've noticed the temperature is always a little higher on the highway.

Hope everyone is well today, talk to you later.

It might break 75 degrees today! I can't imagine 94 at noon. That happens once in a great while here.

Yesterday I did Spinervals Uphill grind. 45 minutes of tough, but to thoroughly fry my legs I added on the lower body premix from HSTA. All those leg presses are brutal, especially after simulating hills on the trainer. Today I need a break from the bike so I'm going to do IMAX 2 or SB...I just want to move more than my legs! I'll add on abs, too, since tomorrow will be a LOOOONG spin and I won't have time for anything else.

Sabine, your schedule is rough! Congrats on having the energy to do any workout at all!

Vilma, your poor kids! I know mine wouldn't want to go out in that hot without a pool and waiters (like Mexico)! Joking...they'd at least need access to supersoakers and ice cream! August 3rd is a whole month earlier than here...I think our district goes back to school 2 days after Labor Day, but we're going to start the last week in August since we have some commitments in October that are going to take some school days away. We live in the country, too, and my boys are always excited to start the YMCA homeschool group to see their buddies again.

Well, good afternoon to everyone! I'm gonna get stuff done and go pop in IMAX 2.

Well to answer your questions , I live in the southern coastal part of NC. We always get on the weather channel as we get hit quite alot with hurricanes; when they start up. The school year is traditional they start in Aug and end in May.

The hubby and I have looked into having a 24' pool installed but it's going to need to wait until tax refund time as it will cost a little over $3500; so hopefully we will have a nice pool in the back next year, keeping my fingers crossed. We had a really nice playset and trampoline for the kids but the last hurricane took them and squashed them like an empty soda can.

Hubby and I both grew up in the Bronx, NYC so it is totally different when we were kids that's for sure.

I just checked the temp, it's 4:39 pm and it is now 95° with the heat index at 104° and it feels like 104° at the moment. Just got back home and forgot we needed milk so I'm not leaving the house until the sun goes down LOL no joke!
