STS Graduates Doing Insanity?

I asked this at VF but thought I would ask it here as well. I am currently doing the 3 1/2 month STS rotation. Tonight I began Week 3 of Meso 1 - Chest, Shoulders and Biceps. Tomorrow would be my cardio day. I think I would like to use Insanity for the cardio days during this rotation. What would you recommend: a) go ahead and start Insanity tomorrow; b) wait and do Insanity as intended after finishing STS.

I have previewed Plyo Cardio Circuit and Pure Cardio so far. After looking over the workout calendar, I don’t plan to follow the Insanity rotation as is but if I decide to just sprinkle in a few Insanity workouts on my cardio days, what would you recommend? Upon preview, it looks like the above-mentioned may work – with the exception of the Level 1 and Level 2 drills since Meso 1 has so many push-ups. What other Insanity workouts do you think may be doable?

Thanks for reading. Any thoughts are appreciated

Hi,

I've only done the first month's workouts. The three main workouts are Plyo Circuit, Pure Cardio and Cardio Power and Resistence. Then there's an ab workout, recovery workout and the fit test. The three main workouts are very similar. They are various types of drills of differing lengths, speeds and rest periods. I wouldn't say one would be better than another except that the one with resistence has more strength type moves (using body weight). I think any of these would be good on alternate days from STS because the cardio focus far outweighs the strength focus.

I think the month 2 workouts (the ones with Max in the title) are similar to the first month, but longer. I don't know for sure because I haven't seen them. I'm basing this on what others have written.

I just don't think you can go wrong in choosing any of the "cardio" workouts. I wouldn't use the recovery or ab workout (obviously) or the fit test (although the fit test can make a nice add on to another workout, or maybe doing it twice . . . it's not that it's not hard enough, it is, but it's short).

If you really want someone to tell you what to do (so you don't have to think about it), I say, do Plyo Cardio first and then do Pure Cardio the next cardio day.

Have fun. They are great workouts.
