What I'm about to write is very controversial, I know. I'm just trying to envision our future/fate as human beings. I love science and trying to figure out our future is very intriguing to me. So, here are my thoughts and some ideas. Believe me, I'm just making up ideas.
Our technology for us to save our lives and live longer would be (is at our finger tips now) stem cells. To be able to grow any part of your body for later use. But, by doing that you need human eggs, which I think women are donating or getting paid for them. Perhaps we are close to growing our own eggs, then using them instead of someone else's and sharing them with family members. (Oh, I can see how important a woman would be to men! LOL
) To be able to go to your own body vault and pick a body part to continue living, is fascinating to me. We could continue using body parts forever. We would only die if murdered, natural disasters, or by accidents.
I love the pros/idea on cryonics. Waking up in the future after (most likely) seems like a short sleep, but instead could be 50 or maybe 500 or more years into the future. By then science would have manufactured nano technology. Microscopic machines in our bodies repairing cells and tissues that have succumbed to diseases. If we lost a limb or an organ, literally seeing it grow back on our bodies, and it would only take weeks for that to happen. Imagine having the best body that you personally could ever have, always. No obesity, Alzheimer, heart diseases... We would only die if murdered, natural disasters, or by accidents.
Hmmmm. What would that mean? Now here is the part where I want your ideas. The life as we know it now would change drastically. Of course with any new technology, it could also be used for war, that's a big downside.
There would have to be a law about having babies, not everyone can have them anytime they'd like.
Our technologies would be able to continue on with the person who started it, and see it through in his/her life span. (That would be a very long time.)
We would have to grow our food differently. It could be in a high rise building (according to Scientific American). Solar cells, and incineration of plant waste dropped in a chute from each floor, would create power. The sun and artificial illumination would provide light. A lab for testing and growing seeds, a grocery and restaurant would sell fresh food directly to the public. All in one building, that could be a 30-story high building. Aeroponics or hydroponics anyone?
Oh, I just wanted to add, we would be able to workout to as many DVD's as we like. I mean there would be time for them. LOL
I can't think of all the changes that would occur. Would love to pick your brains.
Most likely sounds like Science Fiction, but, I think we are headed in that direction. Opinions?
