stability ball=broken arm????

Well my 4-year old Gabe did it again. In late August he broke his arm when he jumped off some playground equipment at daycare. Friday night, he broke it again!!!! He asked me if he could watch tv in my bedroom b/c he didn't like what I had on downstairs. So I put on his show and came back down. About 20 minutes later I hear crash, followed by him screaming. My dh and I run up to see what is going on and he is laying on the bed screaming. We couldn't get out of him what he did but I am finally putting it together. He says that he was laying on the stability ball with his feet propped up on the high step. He tried to roll off the ball backwards to do a backflip and the ball rolled away from him, he fell and his arm landed on the high step. What he was attempting to do and why he was doing it is beyond me, but try explaining this to the doctors. It is the same arm that he broke over the summer but a different bone. This time it is much worse and is going to take longer to heal. I"ve got to take him back in this week for more x-rays.

I've been on maternity leave for almost 5 months now and none of us has even had a cold, fever, nothing! Now, 1.5 weeks before I have to go back to work and this happens. He'll be going back to daycare with a cast, I"ll be missing work for doctor's appointments. And I wonder why I'm finding so many gray hairs on my head?????

Poor Gabe! Poor Dana! You just have to teach him the right way to use a stability ball and step! Hope everyone's recovery is uneventful.

Dana, that's so sad!! I'm sorry for BOTH of you!!!

When I read the title to your post, I thought, is she trying to find an easy way out of doing pikes?? :-(
