So many to choose from

There are so many good things that I have heard about different books. How does one know which one is best for them? I hear great things about body for life, burn the fat feed the muscle, tosca's book. I really dont know which one I should get and use to help me achieve my goals of getting leaner and losing 6 lbs. I need something that isnt hard to follow as far as planning meals since I have very little time to do so with working full time ,teaching exercise classes and having 3 kids that have tons of homework each night to do. any suggestions? thanks!

I've never read BFL or BFFM but I have read Tosca's book, It's a quick read, very motivating. Sometimes she's a bit over the top, but you'll get some good ideas there. Good luck!

Hi Laura,

I don't have Body for Life, but I have the other two books, and they are both really good. If you could get both, I would say to do so, but if you can only get one, I would say to get BFFM.

To be honest, BFFM has been much more helpful for me in that he gives really specific information about what to eat and why, how often you should eat, etc. He doesn't give recipes, but emphasizes combining carbs + protein at every meal. It is a big book to get through, but it's packed with a lot of information. BFFM also emphasizes and incorporates the principles of clean eating, which is Tosca Reno's focus. In other words, having both is a little redundant since Venuto's book is also about clean eating. By following the principles in BFFM and by increasing my weight training, I've lost about 14 pounds since August.

Could you perhaps buy the BFFM book and then maybe get Reno's cookbook or subscribe to the new _Clean Eating_ magazine that just came out?

HTH!:)

Actually, I would love to see what others are reading. I know Catherine "Fit fairy" has had some interesting reads as of late.

thanks leanne. Dont you have to download BFFM book? I wish you could just buy it in store. I think I am going to get it though.

Like Beavs said, you do have to download it yourself from http://www.burnthefat.com/, which is a bit of a pain. I printed mine up, holepunched it, and then put it in a three-ring binder.

It's really worth it, though! I was skeptical of spending so much on an e-book, but I'm so glad I bought it!

HTH!

I got the BFFM also. I get quite a few magazines and have read Tosca's along with a couple others and think the info is good.

I thought it came with some recipes also ? ? ?

As with anything, you have to adjust to fit you and that is one thing that BFFM continues to impress throughout.

Good luck whichever way you go.
