Hi Jennifer I have the original health club step and removing a couple of my risers gives me an incline bench I love it. I am sure you will love your slanted risers.

They seem like "nice to haves" but they are expensive and I can think of other things to do with my money. I have spoken with a few that have them and they seemed to agree.
I have them and use them. I feel that it is more stable with them on there than just with the regular risers alone. They certainly are not a requirement - but I also noticed my step was getting a little damage on the bottom side from using the incline without the slanted risers - so makes me feel better that it is more stable and not damaging my step...
I agree with Anne totally -- I had noticed the same bit of wear & tear on my step. I bought the slanted risers from Cathe (be quiet, Beavs -- I know you're out there and I know what you're thinking ;-)) and haven't used them a lot yet, but am enjoying having them for those incline-bench moments. And they do make the incline more stable!
