Showtime will be premiering.........

Oh I was sooo excited to see the new series- even if we do have to wait a year. :(

I have LOVED the Tudors with the exception of the 3rd season. I absolutely DESPISED Katherine Howard. Too many explitives to describe her and definitely NOT appropriate for this forum.

I'm loving the new queen. The Borgeses (sp?) looks even more delicious! But nobody can replace yummy JRM!

Queen Pamela Jane :rolleyes::p:D

Poor Catherine Howard. She was just too young & stupid to marry someone as dangerous as Henry. I know the expletives you're thinking & I agree, but I don't think she deserved to have her head chopped off for it. :confused:

I agree re. JRM--Jeremy Irons will star in the Borgias, he's not nearly as delicious as JRM. ;) Hopefully we'll get some eye candy in backstories.

So what did you guys think of the Tudors finale? I was kind of disappointed. But the last 5 minutes or so was great. I hate to admit it, but I cried a little. :eek:

I'm curious, ladies. Have any of you ever read Phillipa Gregory Books??? The Constant Princess, The Other Boleyn Girl, The Boleyn Inheritance, The Queen's Fool, The Virgin's Lover, The Other Queen or The Wise Woman??? They're historical fiction about the 16th Century Tudors and I've LOVED every one I've read (I've read the first 4 only so far). But, now I'm considering renting The Tudors series on Netflix or something like that.

OK, so there was not really a point to this post! LOL :D

I've read them all. :) They're really fun reads, but not entirely factual. Gayle, if you liked Gregory you should try Allison Weir. Her stuff is nonfiction, but she writes so beautifully it reads like fiction & you just can't put it down. I started reading her Tudor stuff after I read Gregory's, & I was so intrigued I had to go back to the beginning w/Eleanor of Aquitane. She was a helluva woman!

Rent the Tudors. If you liked Gregory's books, you will LOVE the Tudors! And it's not just the story, it was so beautifully produced, written & acted it's worth watching for that too.

Thanks, Laura. I got into Gregory's books when our Book Club read The Other Boleyn Girl a while back. And I think the reason I loved it so much was BECAUSE it was 'historical fiction'.....I was learning my basic history with fiction thrown in for good measure! :D I might just have to check into renting the series now. THANKS again!
