Shopping intervention needed?

I found these two Cole Haan crocodile embossed patent leather handbags. The first is $119 reduced from $325 in black, and the second is $139 reduced from $425 in a color called "spice". I have a $20 coupon for the website. I think croc embossed crocodile is out of style, but I LOVE it.

Should I buy one or let it pass?

They're going fast, so I have to decide right away!

I love both of them, but would probably go with the black one at that price and because it looks like a shoulder bag. I would not buy either one of them if I couldn't get it over my shoulder. I don't like bags hanging on my arm like Queen Elizabeth. But that's just me.

I personally like the second one. I love colorful handbags. Go for it if you can afford it. I still see lots of croc embossed handbags in the store and on the shopping channels.

I was thinking the exact same thing. If it doesn't go over my shoulder, I have no use for it. But both straps have about an 8" drop, which I'm thinking should go over my shoulder, but the black strap looks like a better fit for the shoulder.

It's not just the strap length, it's the width of the base too. Does that make sense? Too narrow and it won't fit over a winter coat, for example. Also, 2 strap handles NEVER both stay on on my shoulder. The outer strap always falls down.

Love the croc embossed pattern and that's an awesome price for Cole Haan.

Excellent point. So, you think the black is a better choice? Did you notice that the black has no outside pocket? I'm not sure what I would do with my cellphone and metrocard.

I like the style/shape of the black one, but I like the color of the other. Hmmmm...... I'd say if you've got the cash, buy one or both. Black is more go with everything, but I really like the orangey color

I don't really want to spend money. I just kept thinking that the bag is discounted by about 63%. I mean, that's almost a sample sale price, right? It was more of a "how can you pass this up"? then a "gee I need a new handbag" type of thing. I also was thinking how classy looking croc patent would be at work and at client meetings, etc. I'm leaning against buying anything though. I hate parting with $ these days.

Oooohh, that's a toughie. Does it have an interior cell phone or pda pocket?

Also, looking at the width of the black bag, do you think the strap drop might be too short for that width? Would the purse hang right against your arm pit?

Yup, the bag has inside pockets for phones and such. I guess I was thinking that at that price, I would just use it for dinners with VIPs and use my regular bag the rest of the time.
