Shoe recommendations please!

Hi! I'm wondering what type of shoes everyone wears for the high impact aerobics and step. Mine are due for a replacement. I started to get a "shock" sensation in my arches when doing the higher impact moves. It doesn't hurt, it's more of a tingling. I need something with really good arch supports that is quite light. Anyone in love with their shoes and want to share?

I did notice a lot of mention of Rykas--is there a particular style I should look for? Also, do they run true to size? I have big feet--size 10!
Thanks for the reply!

I'm with the Ryka crowd. However, you need to go to an athletic shoe store and try on several pairs/brands. Find what fits your feet best. Everyone is different as is every shoe brand - you need to find what is comfortable for you. The only way to do that is to try them on and bounce around in them at the store.

Thanks NY! I know I need to try them on, but the choices in athletic shoes are so overwhelming right now. I just thought maybe someone had a suggestion of where I could start. Also, the nearest shoe store is about an hour away, so if I go, I want to buy. :)

Another vote for Ryka. One note, I have to get 1/2-size larger in Ryka than any other brand of workout shoe.

I suggest trying to find a store where you can try on several different styles and brands of shoes to see what feels best for you. And don't forget to jump and stomp around in the store to check out the "feel" of the shoe. Trust me, the store employees will not be shocked.:)
