Good morning ladies..

My DOMS are feeling better in my legs thank goodness! Today I will be doing Disc 4: chest, shoulders & biceps...

Chris: I hope you are feeling better today!

Good morning --- Happy Monday!

Kathy, good luck with that upper body work! Did you have a good weekend?

Chris, how was work about you calling in sick? I seem to have a sick Travis this morning -- not super convenient because I have a lunch meeting, but somehow I'll figure it out. If this were last year, I'd just make him go to school, but it seems like every day they are telling us not to send our kids to school if they are at all sick. I'm sure he'll be bouncing off the walls later..... I don't think he's super sick.

Well, I just couldn't stand being left out of the STS picture, so..... I did STS legs this morning! I had low max on the calendar, but since I ran yesterday and I haven't done a Cathe-hard workout in quite a while, well, I was just itching for something, so I started thinking about what leg work I could do. B&G, L&G.... duh! Just do STS legs! So, I did. Nice! Those wall squats -- I didn't realize she was alternating, and I did them all on one side! So, I had to re-do a bit. I must say, those barre workouts have really helped, because I remember those wall squats being tremendously difficult, and they were not all that bad for me. Also, I feel like I got an even better workout with the bonus things since they are somewhat barre-like, and now I know how to position things to make the moves even harder. I really liked it -- loved the firewalkers which I haven't done in forever!

Waves to Hottie, Joanne, and Vilma! Hope everyone has a nice day.

Hey Kathy!

Hey all to follow!!

I am feeling a bit better. Coffee didn't turn my stomach and I had an appetite for my usual oatmeal (minus the flaxseed, for some reason, that still repulses me). I still feel lightheaded-ish/tired. I slept HORRIBLE last night too. I'm going to hang low this morning, and maybe see if I'm up for DISC 4 after lunch. If not, I may do it tomorrow and re-figure the week. If not tomorrow, I may just fudge it for the week and start STS all over next Monday. That is the plan!

And can I just vent a little here? Why am *I* recovering from some sort of Flu bug, yet Greg is STILL sleeping on the damn couch while I did the ENTIRE morning thing with the boys, breakfast, dishes, got them going to get dressed, fed the cats, went to the busstop with them. I know, if I SAID "Honey can you please do it..." , he would, but WHY DO I HAVE TO ASK!??!?!?! Just pisses me off. ...

Vent over.

Kathy: glad your lower end is back today!... You go on Disc 4 , hope I end up joining you!

Beth: Funny about that girl being SUCH a tomboy. She used the boys' bathroom? Guess maybe your prediction might come true about her being gay. but who knows. I wonder if her parents think that too?.... Oh, DO watch the re-make of The Bad News Bears. It was funny, though a little more "bad" with Billy Bob in it. Some extra swearing (from the kids too) and a little sexual innuendos. Of course Zach enjoyed it ! LOL!

Another beer owed!!!

Good for you for doing STS Legs!!!! it's fun to throw those in there. I liked doing the Plyos in the last rotation. I'm excited to do legs this week with the bonus. (thanks!). I love firewalkers too. I did them in B&G last week, I think? Good stuff!

Sorry Travis is sick-ish. He had the sore throat over the weekend, right? It's funny, because yesterday Zach was on Day #2 of complaining of a sore throat, plus he was all hoarse and couldn't talk. I looked down his throat, and it looked a little red, and at FIRST I thought I saw white bumps (but later think it was just him having residual something in his throat). I called the doc, and they said to push fluids and have him gargle with salt water and then bring him in for a strep test on Mon morning, but he doubted it was strep. I looked at him this morning, he said it was better (but still there) and his throat actually looked ok. So I sent him to school! ....

Hope your day gets figured out..

OH! And I forgot to tell you guys, i called my boss this morning early. She said she was looking for me a few minutes earlier :)eek:), but to give me a "Baystate Best" (a note written by a staff member or patient saying you did an extra special job). Phsewwww!! (I'm so paranoid, I swear!).

Anyways, she sounded understanding and very nice on the phone. But this woman has been known to be VERY administrative and all-business, not understanding when it comes to "the rules". She did count out 7 days, and said it's ok for me to come back on Saturday. I asked her if it's ok for me to go to Wed's Oncology Class for my certification, and she said she'd really hate for me to miss it, and if I felt a lot better, to just go. ... I didn't ask her about my sick time. I was scared to bring it up! If there's an issue with it, I guess I'll hear about it....

So we'll see!!!

Chris, I think you owe me the beer!

Yes, funny about the tomboy girl. The really funny thing is that her mom didn't really see a problem with her using the boys' bathroom. Maybe she had just gotten so used to boys at her house that she also forgot this girl is a girl. :)

I heard that this version of BNB is not for kids!

Yes, Travis has had the sore throat, and I heart it in his nose this morning, and he's complaining about his ear, but I think he heard that his friend had an ear infection last week. He's now acting like his usual pill self, and I'm really ready to push him out the door! I really think it's just a mild cold. Grrrrr!

Congrats on the nice letter/award -- good for you! Good timing, too -- maybe she'll be more understanding on the sick thing.

Ok, the kid's going to school! He was being a really obnoxious version of his regular self, so I asked him again if he thought he could go, and he admitted he could! I knew it!

Chris, funny about the residual stuff in the throat, and yes, you may whine all you want about having to do all the regular kid stuff when you're sick! It's just not fair -- moms can't be sick.......

morning...I had a frustrating one at least. I woke up from a nightmare in a complete sweat because I dreamt that the autoclave that I had put something in O/N had exploded, destroyed my floor, killed someone, and I was waking up next to someone who was not Joe. I checked me email assuming the university would have emailed me if anything was true (because if my half awake state that made sense).

And then I futzed instead of working out because Joe had a drs appt that was supposed to be at 10a and since he can't use public transport for that I was going to go in late with him. turns out the appt was at 345 and there was no way I could do my day and my appts like that so we had it moved to wed at 4 but then I was like, well traffic is crappy and I haven't done my work out. So, I got to do the second week of STS. I liked it just fine but sometimes I wish she didn't incorporate so many damn things. I don't have the room in my new gym room so I have to take time to clear stuff out and set things up and I can't for the life of me change that barbell as quickly as they do. On top of it, the second to last exercise definitely had the wrong weight...muuuuch heavier. I must have typed it in wrong or something. I love working shoulders because mine are so weak but it eventually affects my ability to do other exercises. Like on a reverse dumbbell curl, I'm fine in my bi's or forearms but my shoulders are burning so bad I can't do much more. But still glad I'm sticking to at least STS since its NOT my diet!!

Only my hammies are hurting today and I hope that will improve with walking around.

Chris -- you'll always have an ear from me about that kind of stuff. Joe was such a jerk these last couple months, it was wearing on me so much, there was the evil "D" talk and then my mother scared him straight when she came to visit. So, if you want, my mother can scare Greg straight too (it did help that his friends told him to stop being an a-hole too but I think it was my mother). Glad you're feeling better and I hope you can do disc 4 later. Awesome on the award!

Beth -- too fanny about Travis and I'm glad you got your STS shot in. How's the shoulder? You tempt me too much with barre work...but first let me get through Cathe legs for 3.5 months..

OH I FORGOT TO SAY! MY TOWER IS COMING TODAY!!! Hopefully Evee won't scare the UPS guy again...

Oh, and for those of you who did Disc 4 -- did the music ever sound familiar? One of them was definitely the Tetris music at one point and at another point I definitely heard the treatment of a theme that shows up in a JRPG (video game)...yes, I'm geeky...

Hi Again!

So I did it. (DISC 4) I really didn't feel too bad this afternoon, plus I got riled up because the Pediatrician's office told me they were out of Flu vaccine's and that kids with underlying health issues (i.e. my Zach and Alex) are NOT a priority in getting the shots. There was smoke shooting out of my ears on that one

Oh, and another "stupid hubby trick". (You'll like this one, Hottie!). Greg tells me he was on the couch late because , well , #1, he was up until 2am, and then got up again at 3am to check Zach's sugar. (ok, I get he could be tired from that). BUT, #2, His stomach feels "a little funny" , like he's getting sick. And I'm like, "Oh crap, no wonder he's so out of it!". But THEN, he gets up and EATS LEFTOVER CHINESE SESAME CHICKEN AND FRIED RICE and DIET COKE! Hell--oooooooo!!!! Here I am offering him toast and tea and such, and he pulls this shit out. I could throttle him! Sick, my butt!:mad:

whatever...

So I figured I'd start Disc 4, and if I felt dizzy/woozy/icky, I'd stop.

I did ok! I got through it! Funny, Hottie, I also F'd up on that shoulder exercise (is it the seated shoulder presses, 21's?). I was hopping around trying to get my weight bar adjusted quick, and started the exercise , and started pooping out BIG time on the last 7. I then figured out I had 15#'s on one end and 10#'s on the other!!! NOT good!. ... I also pulled out my new Cathe Green Band that I got a LONG time ago and never used. THAT THING IS TIGHT!!..I did NOT use it on the barbell curls with the band (HATE that exercise!!!). And the weird push ups were all over the place. I did what I could. .... On the music, I heard some weird "ding ding ding" like a timer going off towards the end, and I thought something I had was alarming, and I'm looking everywhere all confused! Turns out it was the music from STS! ... I didn't connect it being Tetris music (which is THE only game I ever loved and played regularly!) though. I'll notice next time, i'm sure. .... And also, OMG on that nightmare you had! how horrible! LOL @ thinking they'd email you!

Beth: I actually hadn't heard that the BNB's with Billy Bob wasn't for kids. I mean, it was on a Sunday morning on regular TV?! I'm thinking it's ok. Only Zach really watched any of it , the other 2 were doing other things. ... That is too funny that you sent Travis to school! . I totally understand though. It's hard to tell whether it's "just a little sore throat" or something bad. For the longest time , Zach would get up EVERY morning and tell me he had a sore throat that only would get better after he drank his milk w/ breakfast. So when he tells me he has a sore throat in the morning, I really don't get alarmed. Kids, huh?

Oh hey!! HOTTIE!! Awesome exciting news no your tower!!!! Enjoy !!!!

Beth, did you get yours? You ordered one, right?

better go check if my ground turkey went bad before I plan supper. !!!

Hey you guys.... busy day for me today..... I had to pick up Travis early from school! Well, in reality it was about half an hour before the end of school, so not really enough time to go home without Dylan, so the principal went and peeked in his classroom and said it looked like they were pretty busy (I was just going to pull Dylan out early too). So.... Travis and I sat in the office for a while til school let out. Looks like I'm probably home-bound tomorrow!

Hottie, the nightmare sounds awful -- crazy when you wake up and still feel like it was real!

Chris, I can't believe you did that workout today! You're crazy! And I can completely understand your frustration with Greg -- arrrrg!

Yes, I ordered a tower and if I had been using it the end of August I don't think I'd be injured right now!!! Now as it is I probably won't even bother to set it up for a while. I think mine is due tomorrow, though UPS sucks in this area, so I wouldn't be surprised if I don't see it until Wednesday -- good thing I'm not anxious! Did you guys see my fb post about no mail on Saturday? One of my friends/neighbors replied that she got mail, but none of it was for her! They must have had some substitute mailperson on Saturday. There was a lot in the box today, including KCM's new cardio, which I broke down and ordered, so I think I'll do that tomorrow!

My shoulder -- or whatever the problem is -- seems much better. I do not have soreness for the most part, though I still feel some crunchies in my upper back. I'm going to have to work hard to resist the temptation to do weights, but I'm also a little bit afraid of how to jump back in. I know I'm staying away from pushups and chest presses at first!!
