Hello everyone,

I have just spent nearly 2 hours trying to learn this DVD, and I am soooooooo frustrated. I am finding it very hard to learn - it's just so complicated - I feel like giving up. But I don't want to because it's fun and if I can learn it, I know I would enjoy it.

Can anyone give me some tips on how to learn this workout and quickly? Do you do it every day until you've perfected it or do you do it once a week. I think I should do it every day until I know the steps by heart.

The most complex bit for me is the 2nd step portion with the vertical step. This is the section that I went straight into (having already learn the 1st step some weeks ago). It's been a few weeks since I used this one, so maybe I left it too long.

Any advice is much appreciated. I don't want to fail ........ I refuse to quit. I must conquer this!

I have this one. Seasun's choreography is complicated but it can be done. Don't give up. Preview it first and then just try one combo at a time. Try it without the turns first. I've only done this one twice but I have done her Rock Steady Step which took me a couple of times before perfecting it. Try doing a little each day so it stays fresh in your head. It may take a lot of rewinding in the beginning but it can be done.

Good luck!

Hello Marcy,

Thanks for the encouragement. I am setting my goal this week to learn the steps and do this DVD from beginning to end, including section 3 where she puts everything together.

I remember the last time it took me so long to learn step was Cathe's Rhythmic Step (my first Cathe DVD). It did take me longer than subsequent workouts to master it. Now I find Cathe a breeze and can learn a new step in 2 tries.

With Seasun I feel like I'm learning step aerobics from the beginning again. It is a challenge and it's good. Her style is so different to Cathe: you wouldn't think that there are so many innovative moves that could be compiled around this one piece of equipment, just as there are so many different ways to lift weights.

I will definitely be purchasing more workouts from other instructors.

Hi Yen,

Rhythmic Step was my first Cathe workout too. I definitely had to rewind quite a few times on that one. Seasun is definitely more complex than Cathe so she might take a little longer to master. I am also amazed at how many moves you can do with one piece of equipment. If you are interested in complex choreography from other instructors, you might want to try Rob Glick, Patrick Goudeau and Christi Taylor. (For me, Rob seems to be the easiest to follow. He layers very well.) Amazing Step Styles is my favorite of his. It's so much fun and I feel really good when I'm finished with that one.
