Recommendations On New Trainers

I am interested in trying Kimberly Spreen and Amy Bento but I don't know which ones are best for someone new to them.

If you don't pick up choreography easily, then I would go more for Kim Spreen. I like her Cardio Camp (kickboxing and hi/lo) and Absolute Kickboxing (CIA 2705). She's also more low impact. I really liked the combat drills with the body bar in absolute kickboxing. She recommends using a 9 lb. body bar which I think is a good weight. I used a 10 because it was all I had and it was tough, but doable. 9 lbs. would have worked better.

As for Amy, her hi/lo is great. You could try Hi/Lo Dome Challenge or Hi/Lo Extreme. Both are pretty easy to pick up on the choreography. Amy is more hi-energy. As far as kickboxing, if you want a slower paced kickboxing workout, try Rumble. In the Ring is a mix of kickboxing and medicine ball intervals. All Cardio Hi/Lo Knockout is kickboxing and hi/lo. Kickbox Xtreme is her most choreographed kickboxing. Her new one, CIA 2901 - Kickbox Surge is great. I've only done one premix but I really liked it. Choreography is more like In the Ring or Cardio Hi/Lo Knockout. Music is great. You will probably burn more calories with Amy. Amy also has great premixes.

The only experience I have had with Kimberly Spreen is from a DVD that has 5 different workouts/trainers - Star Trainers - Cardio. I really didn't find it that advanced, but perhaps her other workouts are. I have a couple of Amy Bento's DVDs and they have tons of premixes on them. She's really high energy.

Not sure if that helps at all.
