Rebounder help

Cathlete
Thinking of getting one for my aching knees. Is there one that is better than another? Which DVDs are good? Thanks.

There are pretty much two types of rebounders: one type is the cheap
"mini trampolines" you can get at Walmart or Kmart. They have a firmer mat, which is attached to the frame with firm cotton webbing, and I think you pretty much get what you pay for.

The other type (Urban Rebounder, Needak, etc.) have a " permatron" mat that is more shock absorbant, and big springs that attach it to the frame (some also fold in half or in quarters for storage).

There aren't a lot of rebounder DVD's out, but Urban Rebounding has several DVD's that each contain different workouts. I like the advanced and the original UR workouts (the second of which I'm not sure is available anymore, but came with my rebounder).

You can also adapt other workouts to the rebounder, especially after you learn some of the basic moves. I've used Leslie Sansone 3- and 4-mile walk workouts to the rebounder (which is the only way I use these workouts, which are too basic otherwise). I've also done the hi-lo segment of MIC on the rebounder (with modifications).

You can also do some of the plyo moves in Cathe's Interval workouts or the plyo moves in BC or the second section of KM on the rebounder.

There have been quite a few requests for Cathe to make a rebounder workout, and I think it would be great!
