Hi-

OK you guys.. I caved and ordered it. All of the positive reviews that I have been reading from you all made me want to be part of your "club"!!! :)

I got it already and am planning on starting it Monday. My question is for you all who are doing if you are doing the nutrition program with it. How is that part going for you?

Also, I have some posts from some that the cardio in the program just isn't that great. Are most of you doing the "Doubles Program and putting in some Cathe cardio? What is working best?

I am a big proponent of Cathe's S and H series..hoping the results from P90x will be as dramatic.

Thanks so much in advance, Lynn M.

Hi Lynn....I am on my 4th week which is recovery. I have been doing the Classic Rotation but will switch to Doubles next week. I run 3 days a week anyway so I am doing more cardio. The only cardio I have done from P90X is Plyometrics and it is awesome! I have done Kenpo too and I liked it better the 2nd time, but it didn't get my Heart Rtae as high as Plyo. I have sometimes done KPC instead of Kenpo, and I have done some of Cathe's weights and cardio along with P90X...yes...OBSESSIVE!

I had already started a new nutrition program so I continued with it and am not following the P90X one. Although I think it is a good program.

I have had great results so far and love the difference in the P90X workouts. I think you will really like it...:)...Carole

I'm not following their nutrition plan, and I've been having great reslts without it. I have cleaned up my eating a bit, just adding a few more raw veggies as snacks and avoiding the processed food even more than before.

I wouldn't say that "the cardio isn't that great." KenpoX is less intense than, say, KPC, but it fits well into the rotation (I think the cardio is somewhat less intense in order to preserve as much muscle as possible). Plyo X is fairly intense (kind of like the interval sections of IMAX all strung together with few breaks in between). I know some people are substituting other cardio for Kenpo.

I highly recommend doing the rotation as-is for the first week or two to get a feel for it. It won't hurt you to cut back on cardio for that amount of time, and you may be surprised at how intense the rotation is. I needed extra sleep during the first two weeks. I also felt like I was almost pushing the edge of "too much," and at that time, adding in extra cardio would have been overtrainig. But you may be younger than I am and used to more intense cardio, so it might work for you.
