This is a mystery to me: I have a new olympic weight bench and used it this morning when I did Gym Style Chest and Triceps. When I use my step, on a good day, I can match Cathe in weight. (she uses 40 lbs for bench press) Well, today I used my new bench and started out with just the bar. It's an olympic bar so it weighs 45lbs. That was too light and I ended up using 60 lbs! I wonder why I'm able to increase my weight by a whopping 20 lbs using the bench??? I wonder if I'm getting a better workout or if it is the same because the effort is the same?? Got any ideas?
