PUB/PLB - Rests Between Sets

I almost always do PUB and PLB as produced, but the goal of my current rotation is increased strength. Some of you have posted that you take longer rests between sets. My question to you is, have you noticed an increase in strength by taking these longer rests compared to when doing the sets as Cathe does? If so, has this increase transferred to your other workouts?

Hi Sooooosan.

I'd have to say that yes, I've noticed an increase in strength using PUB with longer rests between sets. This is one workout where I tend to lift a lot heavier than Cathe, but I wouldn't be able to do that at the pace she goes. I usually do the first two sets back to back, but then take breaks before and after the heaviest set. I then do the last two sets back to back as well.

I usually go at Cathe's pace for PLB, but then again, I never lift as heavy as Cathe does for legs.

I'm not sure if I've adequately answered your questions.
Take Care,

I haven't done PUB/PLB consistenly enough to be able to judge, but I definitely put in longer breaks, especially in the leg workout. At first, I felt a bit "guilty" about it, but then I got to the point where I was taking even longer breaks, and finding that I could use heavier weights during the workout. As-is, I think the pyramids are much more endurance-based. I prefer a more strength-based workout, so my rests help make it that.
