Hey there ladies! Hope everyone's had a great week. The weather here in MN became warm & dry on Wednesday. Praise God!! It was nice to see people actually had teeth (everyone was getting so grumpy with several days 14-16 of rain).
Justin had his first bite of solid food today. Wasn't a big fan, no big deal as we weren't planning on beginning really until he's closer to 6-mos old.
Here's my week

Sun: Imax1 + abs
Mon: BC
Tue: off
Wed: 40 min run + planks
Thurs: 60 min jog/walk + I want those abs
Fri: Advanced High Step
Sat: off

BTW, not a big fan of CAthe's newest Advanced High Step video. Sorry CAthe, just not a big one on strength training (DVD only has 12 min of cardio). I wonder what you gals think of the new DVDs? It does have workout blender & Quick Picks and the whole shabang!!

Hi,
we just returned from new york.We went to see my parents from Thurs-Sun. Alexis did well on the 5 hour trip but yesterday and today has a low grade fever. She has been more tired than usual, teething perhaps? At least she slept through the night sick and in a strange house. She is now in her jumper though and seems content.
Workout week:
Sunday-Bootcamp/muscle endurance premix
Monday-Imax extreme
Tues-supersets -premix 2x of each exercise
Wed-Step this way
Thurs-High Step-adv.( I liked this tape but felt it needed abs and some more arm work)
Friday-Christi taylor-hi/lo happy hour
Sat-christi-strength,balance and flexibility+ standing work from firm vol. 1

I'm sure you hear this all the time, but Alexis is a beautiful little girl!!! Great pictures of you and dh (I'm assuming) too!!! What a cute family. Thanks a bunch.

Sunday - Kenpo X (all P90X stuff)
Monday - stretch
Tuesday-Yoga
Wed - Core Syn
Thurs - KenpoX and Stretch X
Fri-Yoga
Sat- Core Syn

I have been sweating big time during workouts....it's hot here!!

So tell me what I'm doing wrong girls......I tried to give Noah some rice cereal as he QUIT sleeping through the nights, thought this might help. I made it really thin with rice cereal mixed with his formula and I put a little bit on the spoon and placed it in his mouth and he gagged and spit and then acted like he was choking and spit up. My others all did this as well and no matter how hard I tried....they would not eat it!!!! He will be 6 months old (hard to believe...they were just born weren't they???) on June 23rd. My others never ate until well after they turned one. Is it going to be the same??? I did not stick the spoon way into his mouth, just touched it to his tongue and dumped and VERY SMALL bit of the runny stuff on his tongue. WHY DON'T MY BABIES WANT TO EAT???? So Melanie...exactly how did Justin respond? How did Alexis respond. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Briee

Hi,
I was wondering if any of you know which brand vitamins is good to take while nursing? I don't have prescription for the prenatal anymore. I just ran out last week.

Briee, don't worry about him not wanting to eat cereal. Just keep trying. Sometimes they're a pain.) I don't put it on their tongue. I sort of put it in their mouths. Perhaps you could try fruit? He might like it.

Hi Briee,

I don't ususally post, but I'd like to help if I could. My son never liked the rice cereal at first. My sister suggested that I mix it with diluted apple juice instead (or prune, or other juice that you've already tried with your little one). The juice also is supposed to help keep them regular, (my little had a hard time digesting the baby cereals). He seemed to take it alright after that, but rarely ate very much of it. I exclusively breast fed my baby for a long time. I've read somewhere that it takes at least 8 to 12 introductions to the food before some babies will eat it.

Good luck!

Justin didn't really like his rice cereal. That's okay with me, b/c he's so little & I wasn't planning on beginning solids until he was closer to 6 mos old b/c he's doing so well w/breastfeeding. He did spit it out. I've done very little reading recently...but I did read that sometimes it helps if you let your little one play with a little bit of the food on his highchair plate prior to feeding him. That way the texture isn't all together unfamiliar to him. The feeding we gave him was 1 tablespoonful of rice cereal + 5 tablespoonfuls of breastmilk. DH is trying again today. BTW... Justin has NEVER slept through the night. He still gets up at 12Midnight & again at 4am to feed.
As far as the vitamin goes (I forgot already who asked...must be that 4am feeding...) you should continue to take your prenatal. You should be able to call your dr & they'll phone in refills to the pharmacy on your behalf. They do it all the time...you shouldn't need an appointment.)
Shopaholic, your family IS beautiful! Thanks for the pics!

Hi,
Glad you guys enjoyed the pictures, not mine and hubby's best picture but mom scanned it so I couldn't eliminate it. Bet you guys all know now how Alexis got all that dark hair. In terms of vitamins I now take just regular store brand prenatals. In terms of cereal, Alexis initiately hated rice cereal but liked oatmeal. you may want to try gerber oatmeal. Alexis now likes rice cereal if I mix it with fruit. is Noah really 6 months old? Alexis remains sick, tired and dazed, no smile for days and now she has a rash. Just spoke with the doctor's office who said that it could be coxsackie virus? Anyone know anything about this? Mother in law says it may be rosiolla. If the rash continues we will go back to doc's office. we went on Mon. and of course she was cheerful and no rash. It is so heartbreaking.

Shopaholic, were gonna pray for Alexis. Some moms seem to handle sickness very well and I'm just not one of them, so I can really sympathize. A friend of mine said her babies always get roseola at some point. I don't think I've ever had it though (my babies). I have not heard of the virus. When ever we travel we seem to pick something up (makes me almost hate to travel). We have had colds all week. Yesterday my 5 year old had heat exhaustion and he became very warm and sick (almost like the flu). I didn't realize how much they were doing and it was really humid and hot out.

I guess I'm not helping much, but keep giving her fluids and I do feel better if I've checked with the doctor (regarding children illnesses). I don't know if you can do this but I added vitamin C to Noah's bottle when he had the cold this week (it is pure ascerola powder and I add just a little bit). Vitamin C does wonders when you have a cold. Hope she feels better soon.

Mel...got your picture of your boys...too cute, what a good brother!!

Hi,
I actually handled her sickness well until I came home from work last night to a crying child and found the rash had spread. Today thank goodness Alexis has been her happy self all day and the fever broke . The rash is still there but fading. I think it was just an unspecified virus. I checked what to expect the 1st year. It wasn't rosiolla or coxsackie virus. thanks so much for your support. oh Melanie great picture of the boys, they certainly look like brothers.

Hi everyone--

Shopaholic--Oh I am glad that Alexis is feeling better! She is sooo cute--it would be heartbreaking if she was not smiling. Bardric's circumcision was not done very well and his little penis got an infection--I was so freaked out. We called the doctor and expected her to have him go to emergency, but she was not worried and gave us stuff to do at home and it cleared up within a day. Poor little thing.

Melanie--I have not tried the new workouts in their entirety (Spelling?), but I did tack on the 12 minute cardio premix to my cardio today (after doing S&H legs) and boy was I huffing and puffing--have just got off a 10 day rest.

Briee--I have no words of wisdom re the eating. If all your babies are like that I would not sweat it, you know they all eat eventually. Our down syndrome little one had severe eating problems, and I agonized over it, but now you would never know that he was fed through a nose tube for his first year! Praise God!

Well, as far as workouts go, I just got off a 10 day break and I feel pretty good. I started a Slow and Heavy rotation yesterday, so I am pleasantly sore. I think that I am really going to like this one:p. I will be interested to see how my body responds.

Hi to everyone else!

take care
Maggie
