Plyometrics and your legs?

Can someone help me out, do plyometrics help to lean out your legs or do they create more bulk? ( example: alot of Cathe's blasts on the Imax workouts). I am trying to lean out my legs by doing alot of cardio, but don't know if doing the plyometrics is helping or hurting my progress.

my legs have always leaned out nicely with plyo and i've read this is true for many other women. In fact my legs respond and look there best when my only leg workouts are plyo's. Take leg measurements every 2 weeks and see if you are getting smaller.

IMO, I think plyometrics allows you more power to jump higher and run faster.

The muscle is stretched/loaded before it is contracted. The muscles are elongated and loaded by the downward force of your body, then immediately you must contract the muscle to propel yourself back up.

Plyometrics tone your legs for sure rather than getting bulky. In order to bulk up your legs exercises such as leg extensions, leg press...will do that job.

Hope this helps,

Janie

well as with anything your eating habits have to be in check to get lean. but as for exercise i find pylometrics help a lot so does interval running. i also agree with janie that is also has a great functional strength focus which i go for a lot.
