Plateau...

Hi, I'm Meg. I have been plateaued at about 15 pounds from my goal of 125lbs for about a month and a half and I was wondering which series or dvd's would be best for breaking a plateau (in your opinion). Also, what is "eating clean"?

Thanks!

Hi Meg and welcome to the forums. :)

In order to bust through a plateu you need to change up your work out routine. What is it that you have been doing? Tell us how much and what kind of cardio and weight training you have been doing and that will help us come up with something different to help you get out of your rut.

Eating clean is eating food in it's purest form. Examples: An apple is cleaner then apple sauce. The veggies in the produce aisle or the bag of plain frozen veggies are cleaner then the canned veggies. It's basically eating as few unprocessed foods as you can. HTH a bit. :)

Hi Meg,

Welcome to the forums! Like Wendy said, can you tell us more about what kinds of cardio and weight training you've been doing?

Also, a great book to buy that explains clean eating is Tosca Reno's _The Eat Clean Diet_. If you do a search for it or for her name on the forums, you can learn more about her book and this approach to eating.

Hope this helps!
:)

Yikes, I just reread this and I wrote it wrong. It SHOULD say:

"It's basically eating as few PROCESSED food as you can..."

The other posters are right. You need to introduce change. This can be done in a variety of ways.

1) different workouts
2) different emphasis, i.e. more weights, less cardio
3) lifting heavier weights
4) increasing intensity of effort
5) increasing frequency of workouts
6) conversely, increasing rest time if not taking enough
7) decreasing or increasing calorie intake

If you tell us what your current workouts look like, we could make suggestions about how you could effectively change it.
