Pet Joint Supplements

Hi Folks! I was just wondering if anyone could give me some rec's on a good quality product that they have had success with. My oldest dachshund Tanner has been having some rear leg issues. Well actually he's had it since he was a puppy and has been checked out by a doc many times. It's hard to explain but he's always had a weird walk b/c he kind've hops on three legs a lot. We call him tripod sometimes :D We've been told that he would most likely suffer with arthritis as he gets older. Plus adding to that he had back surgery a couple years ago. Anyways, I've been feeding him a high quality senior food for many years with added joint care but I think I need to start giving him something more.

He still plays like a crazy dog, but I'm just noticing a little more stiffness. Sorry to be such a windbag :p

TIA!

Hi Chastity! Sorry your baby is having joint issues. I don't have any experience with that but here is a link where you may find something http://www.onlynaturalpet.com/

Last year my dog had mange and after his treatments he looked awful (major hair loss). I purchased some Salmon Oil & immune boosters from the above website and they did wonders for him.

Hopefully someone else will have some better advice.

Halo Hip and Joint supplement plus Halo Vitamin C and Vetri Science Glyco Flex on top of a homemade and raw diet. The dog in my avatar, Tuxedo was taken out of the breeding program because of severe hip dysplasia, confirmed by his hip x-ray, according to that he shouldn't even be walking.

When I got him he couldn't run for more than 5 minutes without starting to limp. Now 18 months after I got him , you won't see a limp, he is a frisbee dog leaping up 5 or 6 ft in the air, herding cattle and horses and going on 15 mile runs with me, no limp.

My vet at his last examination said he is a miracle dog. And she has sent some of her patients to me to talk about what I feed.

Thanks

Dana...thanks for the link. I checked out your pics of your sweet Ralphie :) We had an english bulldog when I was really young named Fred. He was such a crazy character. We had this elaborate system every morning for school to keep him from running out the door with us for the bus. Sometimes it failed and he would escape and jump on the bus. Some of the kids would start screaming b/c he'd run up the aisle snorting...funny memory:D

Carola...I knew I could count on you for some great info, thanks. I was actually reading up on Vetri Science Glyco Flex on the link Dana gave me when I received your response. I've also heard a few good things about Halo products. Hopefully Tanner will have the same success as Tuxedo. My goodness...15 mile runs . You must have some pooped pooches after that! My little doxies legs would fall off :p

Thanks again!
