pain in the ball under big toe?

Hello all!

I have pretty intense pain in the ball of my right foot. I just couldn't run this morning. DH said it is probably an overuse injury. I had the pain before we went on vacation for ten days. I didn't work out - just some hiking in Colorado - not long, hard hikes or anything. The ball of my foot still hurt some while we were on vacation. But this morning - after doing some low impact aerobics yesterday and also running for about a half hour, I just couldn't run this morning. DH suggests to do only low impact and weight training until it heals. What does this educated crowd think? I was suffering with this pain for at least a month before we went on vacation at the beginning of August. I thought the rest in Colorado would solve the problem....
Any advice?

Thanks,
Jane

I have a pain there too. My podiatrist looked at my foot and within a second told me I have a bunion. I have new orthotics to correct my foot placement. So far I sort of hate them, but if they work in the long run I can handle it in the short term. If the pain persists even after resting it (which it sounds like it does) then you should consider having it looked at by a doctor.

Good luck,

Shayne
