P90x - Need Some Info!

I've been hearing all this stuff about P90x on these boards, and surprise, surprise, my husband has been watching the infomercials and keeps talking about it, so much that he is serious about getting it! Well, he can get the DVDs, however, there aren't going to be instructions or training guides, which I know is a very important part of the program. Is there anyplace where I could find this info online?

Also, I'm sure if he gets the DVDs, I'll eventually end up using them. I'm not a heavy weight lifter at all, but am curious about the results those of you who have tried this program have received?

Thanks so much for the help!

Hello,

Just wanted to give you some feedback about the results I have had with P90X so far. I am currently in the second phase, total of three of the X and I have had some good results. Keep in mind that I started this around the holidays so although I tried like hell to be faithful to some type of diet well it was the holidays. I completed phase 1 with no problems and could already begin to tell some differences but I actually restarted phase 2, again because of the holidays. My friend and I measured myself about a week ago and since starting the program I have lost a total of 10 inches throughout my body. My current weight is lower than when I first started the program and I feel much stronger. My arms are much more defined than they have ever been and they are a lot harder. I can see that my body has changed and that I have replaced more fat with muscle especially in my chest and back.
I feel like this program is lacking in leg work and I am not a huge fan of the cardio like the kenpox, I thought it was pretty silly and not worth my time, I would rather do Cathe and get a real workout. However, plyometrics is a great workout and I feel like it has increased my ability to leap, jump and my cardiovascular health.

I like this program but just realize that it is a 6 day a week commitment. It can get repetitive and boring so I substitute Cathe for cardio except for plyometrics. All in all I would recommend this program because even without being totally faithful I have gotten some good results. That is why during this phase I am really committing to a clean diet and hitting every workout. I even got a daily diet journal to help me which has been a great help.

good luck

I can send you an email with the rotations if you want to know the Classic, Lean, and Doubles. I know that some people have found the manuals on ebay, you could try there. I know that at MDB they don't sell the manuals separately.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I have done 2 rounds of P90X and am now doing the P90X+/X workouts.

You don't have to lift heavy if you don't want to, you have the option to lift heavier for 8-10 reps or 12-15 reps for lighter weights. They are awesome workouts and I've seen some incredible results in my strength and upper body especially. I went from doing NO chinups or pullups to being able to do FULL chinups & pullups! It's made a huge change in my back, I like to say that I went from having a roll to having muscles! ;-) My whole upper body has changed, my dh is always telling me now that I have *buff* arms.

I do agree w/ the other poster that Kenpo is not my favorite workout, but you can sub in a Cathe kickbox (KickMax or KPC or her new 4DS kickbox/bootcamp premix), etc.

Check out my webpage below & send me an email if you have any questions!!

Jess and nkuangle, thanks for your input. I'm so glad you guys got great results!

Jess, I'll be sending you an email in the next day or two regarding the rotations - thanks so much for the offer! Better to have some type of rotation than try to figure out one on my own.

Thanks again! :)
