OKAY - I just saw something freaky...

I went to a local outlet store this evening with my daughter and when we came out, we were walking to the car when I heard someone's tires screech on the road in front of the store. I looked up and saw an SUV swerving back and forth trying to regain control. It did not!

It smashed into a truck hauling a piece of farm equipment on a trailor bed, which sent THAT truck out of control, off the road, thru a privacy fence and INTO AN ANTIQUE STORE! I think it may have hit another truck on the way too.

I am telling you - it was the weirdest most surreal thing that I've seen in a long time. I called 911 immediately and I guess everyone in the parking lot did the same thing. The EMTS and rescue people got there so fast...but yet, it seemed to take longer than it actually did, you know?

I stayed around in the parking lot for a while, hoping to find out if everyone was okay, but I couldn't find anything out and didn't want to seem like a freak wanting the gory details.

Wow Reese, what a scary and horrible thing to witness. It's bad enough when you see the images on t.v. but watching it as it happens has to be, exactly as you stated, surreal. I hope everyone is o.k. Please let us know what you find out. You and your daughter must be a little shaken. Thank goodness you were only witnesses.

I kept looking yesterday for news - hoping it would hit the internet by 11, but it didn't until this morning. Here's a link so you can see a picture.

You may have to cut it and paste it, but in the picture you can see the truck that was carrying the farm equipment in the edge of the antique store, which is the red steel building all crumpled up. It doesn't appear that anyone died, which makes me so happy. I would have hated to know someone didn't make it.

I don't know about a "third" driver. Another person in the parking lot said the guy that smashed into the truck "almost hit another person head on" before the accident. I didn't see them - it's possible the third driver was just pulling out of the outlet store parking lot and the SUV driver was just coming so fast...I swear he was flying.

Yes, it did shake both of us up...my heart was pounding so hard after seeing that and I could swear the color of that truck was burgandy, not black...its like my eyes were playing tricks on me or something - you know? WEIRD!
