Just getting us started -

Well I hope you all had a good nights sleep and ready for this new day!

The Kettlebell Way is planned today.

I just checked my youngest and she still running a fever so no school again for her today :(

When her fever breaks thanks to motrin she's of course fine but I just don't feel comfortable sending her off to school knowing she's not well and is fighting a bug. I know so many parents that do that but not me.

I need to contact her teacher and wish I had her email - now I need to track her down at school today over the phone.


I hate them missing out then having to play catch up so I hope I can get a hold of the teacher so she can send some assignments and work with the neighbor's kid.


DH will start his weekend today when he gets home from work so not sure if I'll be able to get back online .

I have tons to do esp tackling the check book.

Bummer about your daughter, Vilma! I hate my kids missing school, too, but you're right -- best not to send her. My kids are not having fever with this current round of sniffles they have -- if I didn't know better, I'd wonder if it's allergies, but they've never really had them, so it must be a cold. They are not awake yet, so don't know how they are this morning..... I have a hair appt., so I hope they're ok. :) Kathy, how's your daughter today?

Today's a rest day for me, so I did the ball segment of core max and one stretch max. In the end, I'd wished I'd pulled out a yoga tape. Those are the only cathe dvd's I have that I am sort of sorry I purchased.

Hey Guys!!

Just finished up Circuit Max a bit ago! That was the first time I'd done it!! It was ok. I didn't want a bunch of Step for my calf, so the hi/lo was good for me. NOT my favorite, but there was enough kickboxing stuff and some step so the hi/lo didn't annoy me ALL that much. I sweated up a STORM though!

Vilma: Sorry your daughter is still sick. I'm the same way. I won't send them to school with a fever. But i hate them missing out too. It's hard to make all that work up! I'm sure your KB workout went well!! way to work it, Vilma! Do you get DOMS from it still? where do you feel it the most?

Which DVD do you kind of regret getting? Stretch Max? or Core Max? I never got the Stretch Max one, I just have the 3 segment's DVR'd from Fit TV that I've saved. I really like the band stretch, and the ball. The other one is just ok. I think I'll do some yoga or pilates later. It seems ALL the "stars" that are so fit rave about Pilates. I just saw a picture of Faith Hill on the new Shape Magazine, saying she attributes her 41 year old shape to Pilates. Did you see it:

Hi everyone!

I think today I will take a rest day because my lower back is still hurting a little and I don’t want to make it worse. I think I will do some Yoga for my back (from Rodney Yee). I got my eye exam today and my vision didn’t change much, but I have to buy more contacts and glasses! Urgh!! More $$ spend.


Vilma: I hope you daughter feels better really soon. Have fun with your Kettlebell workout.

Chris: WTG on CM today! I don’t have that one. I’ve been thinking if I want to buy it or not.

Chris and Beth: LOL!! I’ve been adding to my collection of workout DVDs for about 5 yrs now. I keep adding more, lol! But, as I add more I sell some of mines too. When I found out about YaYa’s about 3 yrs ago, I went NUTS buying DVDs there, LOL!! I only had about 5 before I found out about YaYa’s, but then after that, OMG, it was like a shopping spree, LOL! That’s how I reached to having that much.

Chris, I sort of regret buying both core max and stretch max. I'm not wild about the core work -- it's both that I feel like I have a hard time doing the exercises properly and that at the end of it, I don't feel my abs were worked very much (I know, core is more than abs and it's important to have a strong core, but I need my abs to hurt once in a while, you know?). Whenever I do stretch max I feel like I should have done "real" yoga instead. I did the segment with no equipment -- should have done the band!!

Ok, what does FOS mean?! I'm so culturally naive! And yes, pilates seems to be all the rage. I always think I'll have a pilates day on my rest day, but I always would rather do yoga, and on the other days, it seems like I need to work harder and sweat, you know? :)


And now, I think I should count my dvds and see if I'm anywhere near 180. :) I guess if I added the vhs ones in, I could approach it. I have no idea, but now I'm curious......

Wow, the legs segment on youtube has me re-thinking my STS cancellation! :) (was just thinking how STS would really inflate the number.....)

Good idea on the rest day, Ivy. Do some nice stretches! I love stretching, I need to do more. I think about it alot... :eek: . Oh yeah, I counted MY DVD's today. I got to about 80, and then there's probably about 10 I don't use , ever, put away in the closet. And then there's the few VHS's I have. Probably more around 95-100? That is alot I guess! Truthfully? I wouldn't recommend CardioKicks/CircuitMax. I UN *heart* Cardio Kicks. It's got more Hi/lo than real kickboxing, and I did it once, and was totally turned off by it. I do like CM, though.

Beth: Oh both! Ok! To tell you the truth, I never get DOMS from CoreMax either. And yes, it seems like you work so hard. I have to say, the only REAL Ab DOMS I get is from B&G Bonus Stability Ball. Also, from some of the Turbo Jam workouts (Like CP , the original, where I think they use the MOST core ever. Oh and, Kickin Core too!).

I really need to be doing other stuff... I better get to it....
 
Oh yeah (I dont' want to go!!), I watched the clip of STS Legs too!

I love it!!

Those exercises look great! I love the ones where you pick up and put down the weights. And I didnt' see any leg presses (probably there, but just not in the clip, but I can dream!)
 
Hi all!

Just got in from a very hectic afternoon. Took DD to the doctor - she has strep throat so had to run to pharmacy for antibiotics. Now ds is complaining of a sore throat :confused:

Today was The Kettlebell Way which I did this morning using my 15 pound Go Fit bell and I just received my 8kg kettlebell with AOS Newport a few minutes ago now I'm just waiting for my 12kg Kettlebell.

So y'all know what kettlebell I'll be using and what dvd I'll be doing on Friday LOL

I need to relax today my shoulders and neck hurt from being stressed from the past few hours sitting at doctors office then to pharmacy - so no cooking tonight I got pizza instead :eek::p

I may have some wine too :D

Beth I think FOS = full of shit lol

I do still get DOMs from my 15# kbell but I'm probably gonna get owie Doms from the 18 # on Friday and I so can not wait until my 26 # kbell comes in that's gonna hurt me some good :p

Ivy I'm at a stage at the moment where if I take a rest day I enjoy it without beating myself up too hard. Life is just so busy and hectic lately to think otherwise for me. So I hope you enjoyed it fully!

I am so GLAD I had Lasik surgery two years ago - I was blind as a bat and since the age of 17 wore contacts . It was money well spent for me.

All those solutions and contact orders ugh! The money too ewwww


Well I'm goingto preview AOS Newport and seduce to dh into taking me out for some drinks tonight .

Vilma, I forgot you had asked about the heaviest kbell I used yesterday (how it felt). It was fine once I was swinging it -- couldn't go high at all -- in fact, I think she had me use it specifically so I'd know what she meant about not putting my arms into it and not going high. But the funny thing is that I got off balance when I first picked it up -- I guess it was that much heavier.

Too bad about the strep!! Good that you got it diagnosed so quickly though. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in fast. My kids are a bit better today, though now the younger one is red-faced and warm-cheeked, and I can't tell if he has a fever or if it's just from running around in the heat (hot here again!).

I had lasik a few years ago -- has your vision held up? They did monovision in mine and I've noticed I'm having a hard time with distance now. :-( Did we have this conversation once already? :)
