Alright you stinkers! I've been lurking about, occasionally posting here and there, just WAITING for one a youse to start this thread -- HA!! You dogs!

My weekend kind of sucked (although DH and I had a very nice day on Saturday ;-) ).

The next 2 weeks are going to suck.

I have tons-o-damily here visiting. They are staying with my MIL & FIL, and while it's nice that I don't have to contend with guests under my roof, I am still largely responsible for providing meals and such.

I received some devastating news about the child of a loved one. This poor kid was recently diagnosed with a severe form of mental illness -- there is no cure and medication will be a lifelong staple. It's soooooo heartbreaking. They will be dealing with this for the rest of their lives. I worked in psychiatry for 6 months, and while I learned a great deal and found it a very informative and worthwhile position, I couldn't take the futility of it. Prayers would be welcome for this poor family.

Hi Michele. I didn't want to start the thread b/c I knew in my heart that you wanted to start it. Look at how beautiful you made the title with all the ~*~*~*~*~*, such talent!

Sorry your weekend sucked and sorry to hear about the upcoming suckiness! Hopefully the next 2 weeks will fly by! What's on the menu for the damily? Just give em PB&J's and bags of chips. HA!

How old is the child you are referring to? I will keep him and his family in my prayers. What type of diagnois did he recieve? Is it a boy? I keep referring to the child as a boy. They are going to need all the support that they can get. Not only for them as a family but also as a couple. The stress of a child's disability can really affect a marriage. I hope that they are able to get counseling and maybe find a support group so that they can talk with other families going through the same thing.

There is a boy on Gabe's baseball team that has mental health issues. He actually attended the school where I work but was expelled for punching his teacher in the face. His mother is an idiot and at the last game she wasn't there. A teenage babysitter dropped him off. He had a meltdown or an episode and I had to clear out the dugout b/c he was trying to hit the other boys and was telling them to die. Then he threw his metal bat, glove and drink. I tried to calm him down and hugged him as he was sobbing and telling me that he can't stand all the noise and talking. I rubbed his back for a bit and he calmed down. It was so sad to see but on the other hand, his mother put all of the other boys in jeopardy by not being there to supervise him. She is the idiot that I told you about before.

I'm hoping to take off on Thurs/Fri. I have 2 vacation days that I have to use or lose by June 30.

Michele, I'm dying here, my friend just sent me an e-mail about some stuff she bought at a yardsale and ya wanna know what she bought? A BOWEL TO PUT SOUP IN. Wonder if that was from the same set you own? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for the child in question, I don't want to post any details about age, gender, or diagnosis. I have no idea who reads these forums and I wouldn't want to risk exposing the family or the child. I'll tell you more later offline. :*
