Happy Weekend ladies...

Lauren and I have a busy day this afternoon..Lauren is volunteering at church today at the craft fair, then she has choir practice and she is singing at mass tonight. So, we will be at church most of the day..

I still plan to get my workout done. I am headed down in a little while to get that accomplished. Yesterday I ended up doing a hips, thighs and abs workout from the FIRM. It was a short one. But, something. Today I want a good cardio. So, I have to go back to Cathe for that. I am going to do the compilation one with imax3 and whatever else combined. I enjoyed the c/w and imax2 combo so much. Thought I would try another one like that..

So, looking forward to those new cardios.... I can tell they sound really tough!!!

Good Morning!

I'd say "Happy" Saturday, but I don't celebrate ;)

Today is busy with regular busy Saturday stuff, plus Jake has a birthday party, we have papers, Alex is having a friend over, Zach might go somewhere. I'm going to really try to get in 4DS, BC, for 30 minutes. 30 minutes, that's all I want! But if I don't , I'm not going to beat myself up over it. But I really really want to do it! It's just frustrating my Saturdays have turned into "too busy".

Kathy: Hope you find a good fun kickbutt Cathe cardio! Let us know what you do on YOUR busy day!!

BBL!

Happy weekend -- you gals do sound busy!!! We don't have too much on tap -- cleaning, laundry, errands, and then two brothers are coming to spend the night. I figured with Larry gone I should make the most of it and just have craziness here. Not sure what that'll do for my workout tomorrow, so I got a good one in today..... KCM's muscle definition total body compilation -- 85 minutes, though I skipped the abs so it was shorter. The kids were up and I was spent. I did not do my kbell swings -- we'll see if I can get to 'em later. I may try to run tomorrow after the other kids are picked up.

Now we need to all watch our weekend eating! I was really bad yesterday -- I cannot keep doing that. I think I'm going back to myfitnesspal.com to track as soon as I finish this post!

Yesterday afternoon at school I was there to help tear down / pack up the Scholastic book fair and the power went out, so we had to do it in the semi-dark. It was a little crazy! The kids who were there had a good time running around in the forum. I think it's not supposed to be so stormy today. I guess the ski slopes are opening this weekend -- pretty early! (some man-made snow, for sure).

I hope you all have a nice day! Chris, here's hoping for fewer and less crazy patients this weekend!

YAWNNNN...

Man, I don't know why I haven't been able to sleep well lately. Maybe its because the heat comes on in the middle of the night. But I think I'm back. I was a bit swamped with work and personal stuff all at once. My lab talk is done until the end of next term. It was the shortest one I ever gave but mostly because I only showed new data and didn't have to explain a thousand new concepts (I'm really a biochemisty but I work in a genetics lab so I have to explain every little detail of an experiment to them to understand). My boss as usual gets excited by new results...he's uber optimistic about data always and likes to throw "you need to do a million experiments now..." It's weird...he tries to motivate me by telling me, if I could just figure this one part out, I'd be in Nature (highest impact journal there is), and I'm like, I KNOW but...I wanna graduate and leave...but we'll see. There's of course a big part of me that is like, I WANT NATURE! I DESERVE NATURE! But we'll see. I do want to end things in the next year.

I had a really nice cardio recovery week. I alternated between intense cardio days and lighter days (like walking the dog or pilates) despite my urge to burn as many calories as possible. I have a packed weekend between tutoring way too many kids as finals are coming up and my friend coming into town this AM so I'm not sure how I'll be doing the next two days. BUT! Brazilian blowout tomorrow in the afternoon. The guy had left his salon but then he emailed me last night and said he'd do it if I came to his home (my sister actually had her guy come to HER home) and I was like, for that cheap, sure! So yay!

I do want to see if I can do something of IM3 this weekend...either some of it today or all of it tomorrow. Today I think I'm like chris -- I only want 30 minutes!

See, chatty hottie is back!

Kathy -- guess what!??! My friend said she'd by Terminator for me for my bday/xmas so I can finally understand what you're talking about! I am both excited and scared about the new cardios! I hope you have a nice Saturday.

Chris -- could you tell your kid to please put my paper on the front step? :) Hey, 30 minutes is just fine especially if its from the 4DS series! Man, every day seems too busy lately...

bbl if I can!

oops took too long Beth! sounds like you're having a busy day too. Lights out at a book fair, eh? I wasn't great these last two days with eating but I even impressed myself with how I did all week. It's just easier for me to diet when I'm only doing cardio. During strength training I'm hungry ALL THE TIME.

Ok, vacuuming now.

Hey again!!

I'm so happy! I got to fit in that 30 minutes of 4DS-BC! I would have felt like a slug if I missed 2 Saturdays in a row. YAY!

Hey Beth: You sound busy, but at-home busy. It must be tough to be in charge of everything with Larry gone, no? You're a nice mom to have a sleepover! I'm not the biggest fan of sleepovers. There's too much staying up late and fooling around. Esp. with boys! That sounds like a long tough workout today!! Good for you! Freaky about the electricity going out. Was it very windy there again? .... For some bizzaro reason, I was able to eat GREAT this week. I stuck with it nice, and the scale is edging downward, slowly. Just where I was, not where I should be. But that has me feeling good! Today is the toughest. So far, so good. I'm trying at least to choose healthier snacks instead of junky stuff.

Hey Hottie!: Glad you're back with us! The lab sounds super intense, you impress me with what you do, seriously, it blows my mind how you figure out these intense experiments. I'm glad your boss is impressed with you too! That's kind of neat! ... Your Recovery Week sounds great! It's nice to throw in some different workouts ... I'm looking forward to it the week after next. Meso 2 has me with MAJOR DOMS the entire time! I'm always sore somewhere. According to what you read, Beth, that's a GOOD thing! And I see some nice definition/cuts in my arms. It's pretty cool! How about you? Your upper body must be showing some good results after Meso 2, no?.... LOL. My son, the paper boy, puts the paper in everyone's requested area, ... under the brick, in the basket, on the side porch, in the mailbox. He's got it all down pat! His route is pretty sweet for tips, I tell ya! Yesterday a customer gave him a $5 tip for the week, PLUS a Thanksgiving Day card with another $5 in it! Very sweet card, telling him not to eat too much turkey! I just love the neighborhood his route is in! they're all old timers, and they're very nice and generous. Makes me feel stingy, because I don't tip our paper carrier. I pay by CC to the newspaper directly, and never put a tip in it. I should change that!

Got to do some more puttering/cleaning... and then it will be time for my nappy poo! And then w.o.r.k., the 4 letter word. I tell ya, my job is a definite crap shoot. you never know whats going to happen there!

Wow, I'm exhausted.

So this one student who has a habit of cancelling on me cancelled on me again after we had a terse exchange yesterday. I got on his case about studying the material before coming to me to prep him for his exam and he was all like, that's what you're there for, and I told him, if you don't come at least covering the material slightly its going to be a waste of your time. He assures me its not the case to only text me this morning saying, "You're right. I need to go over the material before we meet." So, that got cancelled and I have other students who want me but I really just want to take time out FOR ME. So I call the guy for the brazillian blowout who said I could do it at his apt if I came and I asked if he had time tonight. He did! So, I tried to do IM3 but I just couldn't get into it...skipping the blasts partially at the end. It's that first blast...it hurts my foot and I can't stop thinking about throughout the workout. But after I walked around a little I decided to put in the bonus cardio of BM2 and its insane how when I start hearing that Chicago cover the energy I get! I just pushed it! It was awesome! And then I took Evee out for a walk to cool down, showered, and got my ass into West Hollywood for my brazillian blowout. my hair is so soft...so cool! I have a pic up on FB. Joe got his hair cleaned up as well.

Now, I just have to get myself up early tomorrow to go over so much material of biochem and ochem. I'm going to be tutoring for like 6 hrs between two students if no one cancels on me. Part of me wouldn't mind if I got another cancel but that said, I wouldn't mind some money for the stuff I've been spending either!

Chris -- that's really nice what you said about my work! I don't find any of it impressive at all and I'm mostly in a grumpy mood but I think that's what happens to all grad students this far along. I REALLY liked Meso 2. My arms are looking nice which I lURVE but I really wish that belly would go away. Everything else with my body I'm ok with...I say this after eating out because I have no time to cook. Hopefully, I can remedy that this week.

Ok, more prep work for tomorrow and then sleep. Hope you had a good night Chris!

Wow, nobody here yet today? Kathy, how was your church-filled day yesterday? And Chris, how was work?

Hottie, I'll check that fb pic -- I know that smooth feeling! But to be honest, I do not like the way I look with the smooth, straight hair -- it's just too foreign for me. All that tutoring madness! Hey, next time you do imax 3, do the premix for the last half and then if you still have steam, start it from the beginning (skipping the wu of course). Just a thought....

We are having a successful sleepover -- they've really been quite good. Wathched two movies last night! But the little boys fell asleep shortly after 10:00 and Travis tells me the older boys stayed up til 1am, but I heard nothing! So, that's a success in my book. They sort of slept in and are now playing Settlers of Cattan with arguments minimal -- whew! I think I'll survive, though I did have a lot of "entitlement eating" yesterday with the anticipation of being alone with four boys!

I stayed in bed this morning listening to podcasts, not wanting to wake anyone prematurely, but I really do hope to run when I'm back down to two boys. Hottie, I had a little eureka moment.... do you do cardio vs. weights at a different time of day? If you do weights in the morning, and cardio in the afternoon, maybe that's the difference in your hunger? I noticed that when I did that run in the afternoon, my appetite was less. But as you know, when I do it in the morning I'm super hungry all day long. I'm going to try to test that theory again today hopefully.

Hottie, Gina absolutely loved that food! You have to tell me where to get it. She's very funny about eating.... she takes a big mouthful of food and carries it to the carpet, dumps it out of her mouth and eats it there. With the lotus food, she ate it straight out of the bowl.

gotta go... the natives are getting restless....

I've been up -- I can't believe these two students have managed to make me temporarily hate my two fav subjects of all time (ochem and biochem). I'm almost done with prepping for them and then its driving all over LA.

Beth, actually, if I do cardio in the morning and weights in the evening I'm much better with hunger. If I do weights in the morning though, just super hungry all day. Something about cardio just blocks ghrelin to my brain. AHHH -- Settlers!!?!?! Your boys would love Joe. (but watch out, Joe cheats.) I'll have to try that with IM3...I mean, i ended up doing 45-50 minutes of the whole workout but just loosing the desire to push through it near the end and my feet were just killing me. I really love that last blast and I was pissed my feet were hurting on the 7th blast (the jacks up and down on the step). But that BM2 bonus cardio -- I love it! The whole thing burned 600 calories including the walk so I can't complain. I can't do any cardio because I can't wash my hair for the next couple days so its just going to be weights and pilates until Thursday (then TONS of cardio that day).

I'm glad you like the food -- it's this localish company that's JUST gone national. Actually, I had found their sales rep at an event and I sorta complained that I had sent them an email with some questions and never got a response back and the woman was like, Oh, that was you! Turns out that the small company is growing too fast for her. The poor lady didn't seem excited at all that her company was becoming a success...doesn't like all the travelling and work I guess. I'll send you the info about getting it online if Larry is cool with it. I'm lucky because one of the local stores they distribute to has a bunch of locations in LA (or I would have never found out about them!). But be careful today! If Gina is not used to eating baked dog food her poop may be...erm, softer today.

I'm going to close my eyes before I brave the freeways soon. Hope you all had a good sunday!

HI everyone..

Rest day today..Tomorrow I start Meso 3! I did take a long walk with the dog and family and Lauren and I spent the day cleaning out her room!! What a task!!

Lauren had a great time volunteering yesterday. She helped out with the church's bake sale at the craft festival. She loved it and already has been asking me about future volunteering. I am happy to hear about that....

ok, gotta go start on cleaning Chris room. At least his isn't as bad as Lauren's room!!

Just a quick *wave*!

Crazy Sunday. The crazies live at work, and 3 of my 6 patients were whacko! My 6th ended up having chest pain at 7:20am with a heart rate in the 200's! Oh,and she only spoke Russian. Good freakin times!

At home, Jake came in this afternoon , got shot by a BB gun by the neighborhood kid. (in the buttocks).

And now I'm back to work...

:eek::eek:
