Need advice from a dermatologist

Can using those at home microdermabrasion treatments actually make you break out? I seem to be having that problem.

I'm not a dermatologist, but I go to one regularly and I use home microdermabrasion treatments weekly. Some people have very sensitive skin and they do break out from home microdermabrasion treatments. In my case when I'm not gentle with my skin I break out from them. I don't know if you own one of those machines or if you do it with an applicator, either way you could be putting too much pressure (either on the machine or the applicator) and harming your skin. You also need to clean the applicators with antibacterial soap and when you remove the microdermabrasion cream from your face make sure you wash it out throughly because some formulas can clog your pores if you don't wash them out well and can also cause breakouts. If you already do all this and you're still breaking out maybe home microdermabrasion is not for you. I hope this helps.

Thank you for the advice. I have the machine and you may be right about me pressing too hard. Once this break out is over I will try again. Have a great Labor day
