My own kiosk at the mall?

A friend of mine gave me the idea of opening our own kiosk at the mall, it would be open from November through mid-January. I never thought about it much until recently, I am taking busness and accounting classes, I am gaining a lot of confidence and feel that I could handle the challenge.

Does anybody have experience/ or knows somebody who owns a kiosk?

A friend of mine has had one at our mall the last 5+ years at Christamstime/winter selling hats, mittens, etc. She's still doing it so it must be pretty profitable. I don't know her well enough to ask more personal questions about it.
