The only way I know is to highlight the entire document, then choose "Format" then "Change case" from the upper menu. Then go to "lower case" or "sentence case" (the latter capitalizes the first letter of the first word of a sentence.

Thanks for posting this Gayle and thank you for answering Kathryn! For the last 20 plus years I've used WordPerfect and recently switched over to Word (only because I had a specific program I began using for work which wouldn't run on WP, plus I needed to change because everyone else used Word and could never pull up any documents when I sent them!) I DO NOT like Word (only because I'm not used to it -- I'm a creature of habit!) But over time I've figured out most of it, but this was one thing I could never figure out! Thank you!

I hear you about not liking Word as much as Wordperfect.
I used Wordperfect for years (it was the standard wordprocessing program used at the foreign language department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison when I was a grad student there.
I've started using Word more in the last couple of years (mainly because those people who have Word can't open Wordperfect docs...but those who have Wordperfect can open Word docs), but there's a lot I haven't figured out/don't like (like how to EASILY change margins and indents...it's so easy in WP by just moving the tabs on the screen, but I haven't figured out the easy way in Word). Also, I've never found anything the equivalent of "reveal codes" in Word (something I've found very useful in WP).

Although I became very adept at using Word and was often called upon to troubleshoot documents for other people, I never got over the loss of Reveal Codes when switching over from WordPerfect. I liked WP so much better.

By 'reveal codes' do you mean display formatting? or do you mean something else? I'm not familiar with WP.
Regards indents, my ruler is at the top of my document and I can just grab the indent icon and drag it, either the bottom to move the indent for both the first and all subsequent lines or the top one for just the first line of the document.

Unfortunately, Display Formatting doesn't come close to providing the kind of information that Reveal Codes did. RC was excellent for working out formatting problems or creating unusual formatting from scratch.
