Here is my workout for today, went with PTTP:eek::eek:
I really was not looking forward to doing SIM this week, and/or mixing it with Resolution, so thought I would start PTTP. I think with the Bar Mitzvah coming up in 3 weeks (head not really in the workout game, more in Barmitzvah prep mode....), I need short to the point workouts to keep me working out.... something mindless and easy (which PTTP is neither so don't know what I was thinking!!!:eek:) So heres my post from my blog (my stats in pink) with all my ramblings included:

  • 30 double-unders (90 jumpropes)
  • 15 KTEs

[/FONT]If you can’t do double-unders yet, sub 90 jump rope skips during the met-con… and then practice your DUs after the cash out. Get 10-20, even if they’re singles.



NOTES:
conflicted with what I wanted to do today...I think I need a break from sim/resolution, and I've been wanting to do PTTP for a while now. Lots of conflicting info out there on the best way to do PTTP: Pavel and dd say no warm up and no swings during PTTP, and 603's programing has both, so I am going to combine, leaning towards Pavel and DD. Worried about what's going to happen to my "look" of my body, even though I know I will be getting stronger. I am only doing 2 lifts - I want to stay with my same measurements (or lose inches would be nice;)) Not sure about how that's going to happen if I'm hardly doing any conditioning and I'm not going to failure... According to DD the only conditioning you should do is jumprope or running, so I will try and stick with that, but I don't want to lose the gains I made with pushups and pullups.... Will be re-reading PTTP tonight!

adding: My abs are really feeling the KTE's !!!! 2 hours later!!!:eek::eek:

I really am concerned about the definition gains I have made, and how this will effect them.... any of you gals have any insight, I would be happy to hear!:)

Melissa - I really liked TGLAPPS. Yes, it was a little fluffy, but I really liked the characters and the story, and I really needed a little fluff. :) It sounds like you had a fun weekend! I really need to look into Lauren Brooks' stuff.

Deanie - Great workout this weekend! Good luck with PTTP. Are you planning to do it 4 days a week? I don't know what insight I can offer. From my brief and inconsistent stint with PTTP, that alone didn't feel like enough work for me. If you actually do it as frequently as it's intended, that might be different. Do they talk much about it at the AOS forums?

Jane - Great workouts this weekend! I'm glad your Dad had a good day. :)

No workouts this weekend. I spent Saturday and Sunday installing cabinets. DH had to work Saturday so I did those solo (which was a good thing). There's a lot more involved than the happy, shiny people in the IKEA installation video let on. :mad: Fortunately, I'm pretty anal when it comes to planning and obsessing with this kind of stuff, so I didn't lose too much ground. There's still a ton to do, so my weekends are pre-planned. :eek:

I'm not sure if I'll get a workout in tonight. I need to run some errands after work.

Deanie ~ I have no advice for you. Maybe try the rotation for a couple of weeks and then see what happens. I'm assuming DD is "Dragon Door"? I was going to suggest that you ask that question on their forum.

Gayle ~Ok...I'm serious...if you ever need a job you can come down to Georgia and redo my kitchen and bathrooms!! ;) I hate doing that kinda of stuff. I hate dealing with it period but I need to get it done sometime. I'm waiting until my life goes back to normal whatever that is.

Good Afternoon!

I did all of Squeeze Stronger today (78 mins.) Great total body workout (but not as tough as last time). (DH and Max joined me at the pretzel/clam combo and Max couldn't stop licking while DH was enjoying the show)!

Warmup - 3 sets of deadlifts (13#) with alternating knee lifts/15 reps each
Biceps - 3 giant sets of Ws, close grip alternating bicep curls and twisting curls - 15 reps each/8#
Shoulders - 3 giant sets of front raise, lateral raise and rear delt raise - 15 reps/7#
Shoulders/Pecs/triceps - Scissor (5#), chest fly crossing arms in front, pec dec (3#), leaning forward: shoulder extension, circle arms out, press arms in and up, small tricep press (3#)
Standing Core work - with stick - side bends, torso twists lifting opposite knee to elbow, back kicks, standing crunches.
Pecs and triceps - standard pushups (10); diamond shape pushups (10) and 1 arm tricep pushups (10 each side)
Plié series - V-plie first position with heels up; sissy squat plié with feet parallel and hip-width apart, ball squeeze plié in wide 2nd position and holding ball in front of chest; small presses with ball overhead and full range pliés.
Knee Dancing
Stretch
Pretzel/clam combo
Abs with stick - rolldown, C-curve (keep lowering and repeating), rowing side to side, pulsing arms up and pulling stick in and out; ab isolators
Back Dancing
Stretch

Did 2 pullups and 4 chinups yesterday.

Gayle - Keep up the good work on your cabinets! I need mine redone when you're done with yours if you don't mind!:D

Jane - Hope you're enjoying your rest day.

Deanie - Not really too much of a suggestion but I know if I don't stay consistent with my pullups/chinups, I really lose strength. I also don't like not having a warmup. I really need one before any strength workout.

Typing Fast Works

Woo hoo. I did Providence last night. I don't know where the energy came from but I put on my matching outfit and I was good to go.

This morning I did Newport 1-5. I figured that if I could make it through the drills at Striking class, surely I could try it. I modified the squat thrust/snatches in round 1 and I just did burpees. It was doable but intense. I started feeling sore 2 hours later so I am not sure what tomorrow will bring.

Deanie- How large is the Bar Mitzvah? Are you almoest all set? Why don't you just do what you have been doing and switch up after the Bar Mitzvah?

Gayle- LMAO at the happy shiny people. Kudos to anyone who can put stuff together. I am very good at verbal tasks. Mechanical aptitude...not so much. I had one of those Enell bras and that was too much work for me.

Jane- Enjoy your rest day.

Marcy- WTG on your workout and pullups and chinups.

Melissa- Hope you had a good workout.
