Hi Ladies:)

How is everyone today? Im just getting my butt out of bed and drinking my coffee:9
I can't beleive how fast christmas went by again.I think it gets faster every year.I wish this was christmas eve still. But its not...so I best get over it!;-)
Whats on everyones agenda today? I am working out of and there are going to be weights involved. Then I have to run out and pay some bills, I suppose, before they start calling! LOL. I pay most of my bills on line but there are a couple of student loans and one visa bill that I have to go out to pay.I can only imagine the lines ups at the banks. If I go and there are alot of people, I will go back tomorrow.I don't care, I don't have time to be standing in that line up!

Anyway, I weighed today even though I didn't want to but I was down another 2 pounds.I am now 127.9 lbs I thought for sure I was up b/c when my SIL visits, we always have huge meals.Or we eat out and it is always a family affair.Since the fall, I think thats 8 pounds. At one point I weighed and I was 136! ICK! Man, that weight crept up on me.Anyway, its gone now and hopefully it won't come back!
Lori:)

Good afternoon Lori!

I worked out early this morning before DS got up. I did the first KPC/L&G premix and then pulled out GSC&T and did all 72 push ups in the intermediate position (I can't do p/u's on my toes yet) and 1 set each of 3 exercises for my triceps. It was a pretty good work out!}(

I am now washing clothes...it's all I ever do I think! LOL I wanted to get out of the house to run some errands this morning but somehow that just didn't happen. DS is napping now. After he gets up and eats lunch, we gotta head out...I need to atleast hit the bank, the post office and pick up milk at minimum. The weather is lousy here to today...cold, windy and rainy so I'd much rather not go out but I really got do this stuff.x(

I weighed in this morning and to my surpise I was DOWN a pound even after the eating I did over the weekend! Ofcourse, I checked my body fat and that was UP a bit! Oh well, ya win some, ya lose some! LOL As long as BOTH #'s didn't go UP, I figure I'm doin' ok, right? ;)

TTYL!:+

Hi Wendy,

You sound like you have a busy day ahead of you.I don't blame you for not wanting to go out.Its beautiful here.Cold but the sun is shining.
I haven't got a chance to workout yet.I started cleaning up my bedroom. The closet and the dressers were a disaster! So, that took a while. Then Dh came home for lunch and he was going to give DD a ride to a friends house but she is so slow.I honestly think that she thinks the world revolves around her! She knew she only had a few mintues before Dh left and she was just sitting on the bed, taking her time.So I told Dh to live with out her and if she wants to go to her friends house she can walk.I don't think she liked it very well but she has to realize that we have other things to do then wait for her.I have gotten into the habit lately of making her clean up every little mess she makes. When my neice was here the other day, I realized how spoiled DD is.My niece would clean up her mess and no one had to ask her to.Little things like that makes my day go a little easier.DD is almost 10 and I shouldn't have to be going behind her and cleaning everything up.
Anyway, had to vent. I am thinking about doing GS UB today to.I will be so sore tomorrow!
Lori:)

Lori,

Are you going to do ALL of BOTH GS u/b's today!?! You are one brave cookie! }( I have yet to do any of the GS series IN FULL! It's more so due to time constraints because I want to fit a lot into one work out but one day I'll do it. I swear!:p

If it were just cold here, that would be fine but driving wind and rain really STINKS! Hopefully it will stop raining before I have to head out. That would be nice!:)

Off to grab a fresh cup of coffee and fold some laundry...exciting, ey!? LOL

TTYS!:)

Hello Girls!

Well I am so glad I got my workouts in yesterday as today is my rest day and I feel like crap. I think I might have a sinus infection now...what joy! x( You know, I hate going to the doctors and I just might have to go. Yesterday while working out upper body, I just kept looking at my posters in the room...."shut up and train"}( ....."did you pay your dues yet"? }( and "squat til you puke". I kept pushing it to finish and I was surprised at the strength I still have even fighting this cold. I do believe in rest, but I have been resting enough since my children have been home. Getting lots of sleep 11 hours or so lately so I just kept telling myself to finish and I can rest all day today. I fell asleep on the couch with the TV on not too long ago and was woken up by that big mouth %$#@@^ Kirsten Alley shouting about Jenny Craig! x( That voice of hers just cuts right thru me! So I sipping on my green tea now. Took my vitamins and now trying the pears with honey and hopefully this cold will be gone tomorrow because I still have workouts to do!

Thanks for listening to me whine:eek:

Hey Lori and Wendy (and all who may follow)!

What a busy morning already on my first day back in two weeks! We have a new swimming instructor from Russia that I just hired a couple of months ago to start today (she's been here 2 years) and she had some trouble with PE building doors being locked so I went to visit her. What a fit gal she is! She's 42. Adorable.

I posted on your thread yesterday Lori, but I don't know if you saw it. I would go check right now but our internet is SOOOOOOOOO slow here for some reason. Our "help desk" people told us it might be the wind. I doubt it. It's been a lot windier than this. Yesterday the winds were 40mph. I get so tired of the wind. Ah, but no smog. :)

It's fun listening to you and Wendy's parenting stuff (even though Wendy's at this point is loads of laundry, lack of time - hehehe). You'll get your DD all straightened out. I'm sure she's a great kid but if she hasn't had to do certain things to this point, she doesn't know any better.

I'm back on BFL today from my 2 week hiatus. I am having a hungry day, which I usually don't with BFL. I woke up starving!!! I didn't go to sleep until about midnight (went to bed at 10 but couldn't sleep). I set my alarm for 5am so I could do PLB and then KPC (only the Fit TV version of that one). But do you think I got up? Nooooo! So I ended up doing my own weight workout for my lower body including Bowflex leg extensions, hamstring curls and some squats and walking lunges with weight, calf raises and abs. I did them all with the BFL "pyramid" method. Tonight I will have to do my cardio. There was just no way I could do it this morning. I also was afraid to do PLB being so tired - it seemed a dangerous thing to do! Mostly it was because I was lazy but I did lift heavy.

I hope you girls have a wonderful day! Lori - where do you live? Are you in Canada?

Wendy- I beleive you!:) I think;) If you had more time you could do a full workout but I ran out of time.I got on my treadmill and put Madagascar in b/c I needed to watch the end of it.The first time I watched it was at the movie theater and I fell asleep:eek: So I watched 1/2 the other day while running so I needed to watch the rest of it.
I did get a run in and GS B,S,B.I am going to be sore tomorrow.Tomorrow will have to be legs b/c I don't think I will be able to do any push ups with these arms.

Charlotte- I hope you are feeling better soon.Im not surprised that you made yourself workout. You wouldn't want to give up the title of most crazy cathite would you? Didn't think so. I think that when I do cardio when I have the cold it makes me get over the cold faster.I am usually only sick for 2 days and then it is gone:)

Susan- I read your post but I don't know if i responded to it.I read it at work and I had alot to do.Made the night go by alot quicker.I think I will pick up another movie tonight on my way to work.I like funny movies though.
Yeah, we are trying to teach DD a few things.I think there is something to be said for only children b/c I think they are more spoiled then the average kid these days. And then again, she has spent her fair share with her grandparents so she is not exactly slaved to death! Sometimes its just as easy to do something yourself, then it is to wait for someone else to do it.But I think I will soon get to the point where I will shut her bedroom door if its that messy.
I do live in Canada. In the middle of no where...just kidding. It is an island though so its not the easiest to get off of.Then again, we are just a plane ride away. You also had a good workout! We are kicking a$$

Anyway, must get ready for work and get some dinner started.DH started to eat healthy but yet he was gravy with his dinner...hmmmmm...does anyone else see something wrong with this picture?
Lori:)

Me again! :)

Charlotte - I'm sorry I missed your post. It took me forever to type mine, as I kept getting interrupted (darn work!) and by the time I posted you had already posted. I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I hope that you are back in perfect form tomorrow!

Lori - my mom was born and raised in Montreal (til she was 18 then they moved to Los Angeles where I was born and raised). The very sad thing is that my mom speaks fluent French and never taught me a word! I didn't even know she spoke it until about 8 years ago when she was flying here from LA with my sister to visit and my sister said my mom carried on this full conversation with these French guys. Now how weird is that? My sister and mom both live here now and about 6 months ago my sister and I had a little heart to heart about my mom not ever discussing her childhood. She was an only child and I guess they sent her away in the summers because they both worked and felt that was best. She said she had a great time, but how sad to be sent away by your parents? My grandparents are both from the UK, so maybe it's different there???

Well, that's probably enough gabbing for now. I hope I can stay awake for another hour and a half or so and then I have to go home and do cardio!

Take care,

Susan

Lori,

I don't think I am getting any better. I will probably have to get some antibiotics tomorrow. Thanks for wishing me well. I think I have the Fiesta Workout to do tomorrow so I still plan on doing it unless I am feverish. The naps seem to help. I can get away with napping for now as I am all caught up on everything here at home so I take it when I can.

BTW, making beef stew for dinner tonight. No gravy on the my stew. My DH likes gravy too. I try to at least make it with wheat flour, but he always knows when I do. Doesn't matter, gravy is bad for you anyways as we all know..... Sodium and grease...ummmmm, want some???

Charlotte~~

ETA: Susan, we must have posted about the same time. Thanks for your kind words. I hope I can get rid of this cold...not a good way to ring in the new year. BTW, I love your pictures...very inspiring!

Charlotte~~

Well Charly...you better take it easy! Your to far away for me to come visit you.
I made my gravy with cornstarch and I hear ya on men figuring their food out. They say, the way to a mans heart is his stomach and I beleive them! DH doesn't eat ALOT. He will only have one plate full normally but he often has a snack in the middle of the day and it is usually McDonalds or something. And lately he was in the habit of eating eggs benedict. Can you imagine all the butter he was eating? Uh...gotta get some life insurance on that dude!:) :)

Susan- We are going to Montreal in Feb and I am looking forward to it.We have never been there before.DH bought a business in Dec.Its a sports store so we are going to the ski show in Feb to order coats for next year.
Thats weird that your mom never told you she could speak french.I wish I knew another language. We had the an Airforce here the other day and I asked the pilot how many languages he could speak and he said 8! Can you imagine? Must be awesome! I would feel so smart if I could speak another language. My DD is in french immerson so she speaks french all day long until she comes home.I am hoping when she gets older she will continue with it in University and not lose everything she as learned.
Anyway, must see what else is on the forum tonight.Soon going to be movie time!:) I rented the wedding crashers!
Lori:)

Lori - You'll have to let me know how you like Montreal. We were going to go this year to Boston, somewhere in Vermont and Montreal. My mom and her husband said they'd go (but I don't trust my mom to follow through so my sister, her SO, my DH, a friend of mine and me were all going to go). Anyway, since my sister just "rescued" this bird and bought her a new cage spending $700 she wasn't planning on, she wants to wait until next year.

That's cool about your daughter. I hope she keeps it up too. That would be great for her.

We rented the Wedding Crashers too! I hope it's good. :)

Im looking forward to the trip.We haven't been anywhere in a while so it will be nice to get away.I started a new job last Jan so I haven't had any holidays, in what feels like forever! I will have to take a couple of holiday days though, which is o.k. We are going on my weekend off and then we are staying till tuesday.5 days will be long enough I think.I hope they have a gym at the hotel.I don't think I will get my exercise from skiing unless you count sliding down a hill on your butt!:) I will let you know how it goes.To bad you weren't going the same time as I am...we could have met up somewhere!
The wedding crashers was a good movie.I laugh more when someone else is watching a movie with me though.Seemed a bit long but that could have just been me.
Must go see what is on the tube.Maybe I will get some shut eye.
Lori:)

Wendy and Lori, I think you're describing my life! I have a 9 year old dd who is a sweetie, but doesn't clean a thing unless I tell her and remind her repeatedly. I also have a 3 year old ds whose mission in life is put as much sticky, wet stuff on the floors, carpets, counters and his clothes as possible within 24 hours. I sometimes think I'll never finish the laundry. Yesterday and today I needed to run errands, but I also want to catch up on housework that was neglected during the holidays. Needless to say, I finally got out a 4pm and made the mistake of going grocery shopping first. I arrived at the post office at 5:10pm where I discovered, much to my chagrin, that particular branch closed at 5pm. Unfortunately, that's the branch where my certified mail is being held. It took me two weeks to get there, and it was closed.

All I can say is I'm just as busy, if not busier as a SAHM. Maybe it'll get easier once I develop a routine. I just feel behind all the time. At work, I always met my deadlines. I haven't even completed half of the items on Monday's list of things to do. Oh well, it's only been 1 month -- I'm sure it will get easier. It will get easier, right?

Hi Pamela,

Being a SAHM is a feat for sure! I only have one child...my 7 month old son and it seems like so many times the day will fly by and I feel like I haven't accomplished a thing! If I don't get out of the house in the morning right after breakfast, I have a hard time making it out at all. I always feel super-rushed when I am trying to get to run errands because with a little one, you never know when his patience will run out for whatever reason...tired, bored, hungry, etc. LOL When I am home, I am battling to keep my baby happy, my house clean, the laundry done...and still find some time for myself.

ETA: And I have a very good baby! I couldn't ask for better!

So you've only been a SAHM for a month? What made you decide to stay home?
