Moment of Truth April 7

Hi ladies!

I will be hitting the gym this morning for a 45 min. run as per my rotation. I'm reasonably sure that I will not be able to run straight through so it will be more like a run/walk for me but I will do my best. I am considering doing MM before I go...this way I can either have 2 rest days (sat/sun) OR throw in an extra cardio tomorrow morning as I am going to a B'day party and know that the eating situation there will NOT be a good one!}( :9 :p

Anywhooo....Let's see if I can get everyone today....

Lori, how many miles are you running today girl, 20!? ;)

Marcia, are you teaching a class tonight?

Vilma, hope your day is less hectic today!

Missy, still having fun I gather? :7

Susan, how's the new puppy doing?

Charlotte, plyo jumping over any baby pine trees today? :)

Sara, cleaning that "filthy" house of yours today? :p Thanks for the warning on toddlerville and turning 2...I am dreading it already! LOL Although I have a very well-behaved young man, he (tries) to get into EVERYTHING and is already a little wisenheimer who makes a funny face when you tell him NO! :7 *shakes head* I am in BIIIG trouble I tell ya! :p

Gosh, I THINK that's everyone....If I forgot about anyone I do apologize!

Okay sleepy heads! I'm done with breakfast and coffee # 1 and off to tackle MM! I'll be back afterwards and someone better be awake by then...LORI! :p :7 :7 :7

Poor Tigger!:) No one else chatting with you yet?

Im just getting to sit down and look through the forum and check my e-mails.I wanted to tidy up a little first.Still alot needs to be done but it won't be done yet.I value this quiet/computer/coffee time...its what I look forward to in the mornings:)

We are running outside today.Probably with in the next hour. When we run outside we clock it in Kms so we normally do about 14-16 kms...I have no clue how many miles that it.Isn't there 1.7 kms in a mile? I dunno! It is a little windy out but we should be o.k.I hate the wind and its usually right at the very beginning of the run when you are trying to pace your self and get your breathing down. Its a little hard to do with wind blowing into your face.Hopefully I will have a good one.Depending on how long we are gone, I am going to do GS Legs when I get home.
I didn't do anything last night.DD pulled the "i want to watch some t.v with my favorite person" trick.I put her to bed at 9:30 and I as to lazy to do anything.Oh well...I did workout in the morning so its not like I didn't do anything.

Hope everyone as a good day!!!
Lori:)

Hello Ladies!!!

Wendy, I was just messing with you last night! I have to admit, toddlers are soooooo cute! They do the cutest things!

Lori, I am not sure how to convert km (or whatever) into miles. But, it sounds like a long way no matter how you put it!

Good morning to everybody else....who is still sleeping ;)

I forgot to share something with you guys that I thought was crazy. I have decided to keep this between "us" since there has been a disputable thread before about doctors and the crazy things they can do. I think drs are great (well, maybe a little overpaid), but sometimes I wonder how much they really know about nutrition. So, here is my story:

I took Kylee in for her 15 mth check-up a couple weeks ago. Kylee was a very chunky baby, but has slimmed out alot. I call her my little peanut since she seems so tiny compared to my boys. I stopped breastfeeding when she turned 1. She did not get any teeth until after she turned 1. Everytime she gets a tooth, she gets diarhea for a few days. She has gone through this teething/diarhea cycle for the 5th time since xmas. She does not like milk, but loves juice. I only buy 100 percent juice. She drinks a bit of milk, but not much. (I don't think kids need a bunch of milk; they can get calcium from better sources.)

So, at her appt, the scale said she lost 1 pound from her last appt. But, before her appt, she pooped and I changed her diaper right before she got on the scale. Plus, with all the teething and diarhea, who would gain??? Do you want to know what the dr suggested......ok, I will tell ya. He told me to stop giving her so much juice since it is full of sugar. He suggested milk instead. I told him she does not like milk. He told me to add a little bit of chocolate to it so she will drink it. Uh.....hello, sugar from juice is way better than chocolate milk mix!!!! I just wanted to scream, IDIOT!!!

So, here is what I have been doing instead of the stupid suggestion from the dr. Before bedtime, she gets a fatty snack and a high carb snack. I give her a slice of cheese and a slice of bread with "real" butter. And she will drink a little bit of milk with it. She never had a bedtime snack before so this what I came up with. Luckily, I am able to figure out what to do to gain healthy weight.

Don't get me wrong, he is a good dr when it comes to illnesses, but as far as nutrition, he is clueless. As if I would stop giving 100 percent fruit juice and replace it with chocolate or strawberry milk. No Way, Jose!!!

So what do you guys think about this......

Sara

GOOOOOOOOOOD Morning, everyone! TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today it's raining and a little chilly, but I still have the office windows open to get some much needed fresh air going through. Good thing I'm by myself today otherwise I wouldn't be doing this because everyone else gets so darn cold so quick ;-)

I am bartending tonight so no chance for a workout, but I've been very consistant this week, so today will be a rest day for me. I ran last night for the first time this "season" (I don't have a good treadmill so I take the winter off from running) and I went about 3 miles without stopping. I was pretty excited by that - seems like a good start. Oh, did I mention it was also in the pouring rain???? FUN - FUN........

Have a wonderful day everyone and I'll be back later.

~Marcia~

Hi Guys!

Well I do sure hope today is less hectic but the day is still young.

I swear this week just flew by!

Didn't workout yesterday and today I plan on S&H Legs with some other stuff added to it; (cardio , abs)

Lori; enjoy you're run I would love to go out and take a nice walk but we have very dark clouds looming over us.

Sara, just reading about your conversation with your doctor made me laugh, I'm sure once your lil peanut is done with this teething phase her weight will stabalize. Guess doctor was just being a doctor. As long as your daughter is alert and doing all the normal things I wouldn't worry at all about her weight now if she was really sick with vomiting and loose watery stools and she is listless then that would be a reason for concern.

Marsha - your a barkeep? I've always wanted to try that but I'm a very quiet , shy person and would probably not do well. But I do love buttery nipples and make them here when I'm in the mood for one ;)

Well all I hope you all have a wonderful, fun filled weekend with those that mean something precious in your life.

Take Care :)

Hello! How are you guys!??! I am doing GREAT! I have so much to tell you guys: we saw our first lighthouse this week (which was really just a coverup during the civil war and was used to warn if the yanks were coming - how cool!), we went to the dunes and had races down the hills, we saw dead birds and fish - you know, the stuff that boys just LOVE, I will have to fill you in later. It is just great. What I REALLY can't wait for is to catch up with you guys - I feel like I have missed so much! I miss you guys!

I am planning on 10 miles today with my bestest friend today - only she will be riding a bike this time. Did I already tell you guys about the ice bath I took? I read the thread about it and so I tried it after my run on Wed, and it works! I usually have sore knees the day after my runs but I had to pain at all, and still don't. It is a miracle! You must try this, runners! :)

Talk to you guys later, probably not until Mon. We are leaving tomorrow and will be on the road until.... well into Sunday morning. I will be useless then. Love yous!

Missy

Good morning!

I can't believe it's only 8:15am here and there are already so many posts! I thought I was getting in early.

So I didn't work out this morning (it's Friday - are you surprised???) figuring I'd be off early and work out this afternoon. So I take a shower and am getting dressed and I hear the phone ring. So I think to myself (whilst running to the phone, which I missed), "Hmmm...it's awfully windy and snowy out. I wonder if we have a snow day." I turned on the radio and sure enough - SNOW DAY!!! Woo hoo!!! So I'm off to do BC - clean, dripping wet hair and all! DH is off on Fridays, so when he gets up he'll be so excited. He always wants me to take Fridays off, but I just can't. So I work a funky schedule so I can be off on Friday afternoons. Anyway, it must be really icy and slick out b/c there's not that much snow. The interstates are closed and so are federal, state and city offices and just about every daycare in town.

Okay, now am I going to have to quit coming here since it's becoming all runners??? You all might have to move over to the runners check-in and leave me by myself to talk to myself all day long. Wow - that would be fun.

Well my little running friends, I'm off to the basement to workout and see if I will stink after that showered workout. :)

Hi Girls, glad to see everyone is finally AWAKE!:)

About this ice bath? How cold does this water have to be???? I just got back from a run and I am intrigued:)
I just skimmed through the post but I will be back later to really read them.I am starving as well so I need to get some food into this hot bod of mine;-) ;-) JUST JOKING!
Lori:)

Lori: I was thinking the same thing. An ice bath????? Somehow that just doesn't appeal to me whatsoever.........I can't wait to hear more.

~Marcia~

Okay - I'm finished with BC and then I got on the elliptical for 16 minutes (long time, I know!) until DH came home with bagels. I figured I might as well jump on there since he wasn't back yet. I'll do more later. My legs are pretty tired though and I'm hoping we still have our ride planned for tomorrow. DH said the roads aren't bad at all and he's not sure why the snow day. We had about a foot of snow with lots of wind not too long ago and the schools stayed open and I think they took a lot of heat for that. So maybe this is making up or something. I don't care - I'm just happy for a snow day!

Off to take a HOT bath (no ice baths for me!).

Where is everybody?

Ice baths??? What??? Um...No thanks! :p LOL

Anywhooo...just finished KPC through the first kick-punch combo. Gym/run ended up being a no-go today because Joey has a cold so I'm keeping him OUT of the gym daycare until he's better. :)

Time for coffee!:9

Check ya ladies later!:+

Susan...your having a snow day? Hmm...I think my weather is better then yours!:p :p

Wendy,Joey as the cold? Thats not good! When his is b-day? I hope he is feeling better soon!

I just got home.DH and I went to the furniture store to look at bedroom sets and of course we found one.Ugh...$3000 later...I think I will crawl into the bed I have now and cover my head up.I hate spending money! Especially when there isn't any to spend! LOL It won't be delivered until Thrusday though so my house won't be ripped apart just yet.

Anyway...should go clean up a little,
Lori:)

Lori! Is the mattress stuffed with GOLD!?!? :p }( ;) Our bedroom set is a hand-me-down that we got for free from friends of ours when we moved into the house! I probably won't see a new set until after we are in a new house which won't happen for atleast another year as I see it...Can I come sleep at your house? LOL

So what's the deal with your new treadmill? When does it come in? Are you even going to use the dang thing now that it is warming up near you???

Hi Susan!

Hope you are enjoying your snow day! Any good weekend plans aside from your bike ride tomorrow?

Gosh, I haven't done BC in ages! I have such a list of work outs that I haven't touched in quite some time! It's so hard to fit it all in! ;)

Hi Guys! Wendy I was just looking at your pics. You look wonderful. Joey's Mom has got it goin on Baby!
Seriously tho you look amazing. I know how hard you have worked over these past months. Good job Woman.

Hello Sara, Missy, Vilma, Marcia, Susan and Lori!

Hey Kali!

Thanks for checking in on us. Wendy sure does look amazing! You're absolutely right.

So get this - they cancelled the snow day for city employees! They called them all and made them go to work. They should have never made it a snow day. It's beautiful out. The roads are completely dry. Craziest thing.

Wendy, no big plans other than our ride. That's actually nice for a change. I'd love to just stay home! I hope little Mr. Joey is feeling better soon.

I did a little shopping today at TJ Max. Now THAT was fun! :)

Hi Susan! That is crazy! Yes shopping is always fun! Find any good buys? I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Newport News. Should be here tomorrow or Monday. Just some shorts and tanks. We have TJ Max here but I've only been in one once since the boys were with me which TOTALLY takes the FUN out of shopping! LOL! ;-)

Have a good night all.

Kali

Hey Kali and Susan!

Thanks gals!:+

I am at a point where I am happy with my basic physique/size...now I'm just trying to "fine-tune" it some!}(

Hope you both have a wonderful weekend!

Kali, TJ Maxx is such a fun store to browse! I don't often buy anything there but I LOVE looking thru thier housewares dept! I DID, however, find and purchase recently...a pair of Lucky Jeans for $22.00 and the bathing suit I bought for this summer!:)

Kali,

It's pretty late in your neck of the woods, so I'm not sure you'll check this again. I got a pair of jeans, a sweater on clearance, a top on clearance and some really cool shoes (pumps - high ones). For me that was pretty good. I have such a hard time finding things anymore. I can never decide what I like. :)
