Modifications for Imax 2

I've been trying to take it easy on my knees lately as they've been talking to me a bit... ;)

I am dying to do Imax 2 tonight and figure as long as I keep the jumps out I should be ok. But there are a couple blasts I'm not too sure about. I believe it's blast 4 (I'm probably wrong) where you do the genie hops. They concern me. Does anyone have any ideas for modifying this or any other Imax 2 blasts? TIA!!!

Allison - I avoid the genie hops too. What I've had to do is change the move completely. I stole one from Low Impact Circuit. Do you have that one? I use blast #4, where she steps onto the step and kicks, then comes down, reaches back with one leg and taps the step with one hand. I do it on whichever side she's hopping on.
 
Great idea! I love that blast from LIC--that's the bonus cardio right? I'll be sure to try that tonight. Are there any other blasts that you think I should avoid?

Yes, it's the bonus one.

Oh gosh - I'd just try them and see which ones bother you and which ones don't. That's what I've done, and sometimes it surprises me. If you have questions about a specific move, give me a yell. I'll see if I can help. Have fun!
 
Hi Allison,

Hope I'm not too late with this suggestion but what about the 2nd half of the 6th blast Lowmax where you squat to the side off the step, then lunge back bringing your knee to the chest between each move? Cathe does 12 sets of this per leg, but you could do more :p. Sorry to hear your knees have been achy--did it start after your 40 mile bike ride last weekend? Take care!

Thanks for the great idea! I'll definetely add that in.
My knees have been achy for a couple of months now but it got really bad during the bide ride last weekend. I couldn't walk by the time I got home. I was just icing them all day. But I've taken it really easy on them this week--only upper body and my cardio has been taking walks.

Thanks for remembering about my bike ride! That's really sweet. It was such a blast to do--I got to see the entire city of Boston and it couldn't have been a more beautiful day!

I do fewer hops per leg before switching. You could also take it down by just lifting your heel and keeping your toe on the ground for the 'hops,' or even taking out the jump element completely by doing them as 1-legged squats.
