Michele! CS Lewis?

Hey Michele!

You mentioned a couple of CS Lewis books back around Xmas - they were in reference to a religious discussion. Do you happen to remember the titles? I need something to read. I'd go back and search through the old posts myself but frankly I'm too busy trying to catch up to Shelley's 5003 posts....:D

Thanks!

Sparrow

Debbie you are too funny! Yes, that's the link!! :D Thanks!

I'll probably start with Screwtape Letters...have you read it?

Hi Sparrow!

I had to think for a minute but as I recall I recommended 3 books: "Screwtape Letters" by C. S. Lewis, "How Should We Then Live by Francis Schaeffer", and "The Normal Christian Life" by Watchman Nee.

I love anything by C. S. Lewis and his books have truly changed my life. There are several more titles by this author so if you're interested just let me know. I'd be happy to recommend some.

Sparrow--this is one of my FAVORITE books. I think you'll really like it, regardless of your religious background.

Michele

Geez Debbie, how did you find that link!? I was trying to find it and I couldn't. I bow to your greatness and the next time I need to search for a topic I'm going to PM you--LOL!

LOL! Well, you have an awfully long way to go to catch up to Shelley, thank God, and I'm grateful that you'll be around here for a long, long time!

Michele:)

Michele!

First I put in CS Lewis and it brought up a couple links. But neither were the right one so I put in Lewis AND religion and up it popped! :7 PM me anytime! Or, if you want to "up" your posts, just post to me! Ha!

I'm going to jump in here with an opinion that is pertinant (is that spelled right?) and not hijack this thread like OTHER random posters I could name. The Screwtape Letters is a wonderful book. I'm about halfway through Mere Christianity. Unfortunately, non-fiction is not my cuppa, so I've been halfway through for about 6 months.

Robin! :7 :7

Agreed, Mere Christianity is a little dry, especially after The Screwtpe Letters, which is so delightfully satirical. I think I like The Problem of Pain a little better than Mere Christianity.

Michele:)
